If you KNOW what file types these are (eg: .doc or .jpg) try making a copy of one, rename it to the appropriate file and see if that works

(example, you have a word file that is say.. me.doc. make a copy, call it me2.doc, delete the file extension (.doc) then rename it with the file extension again before saving it.. Sometimes this works.

If that does not work, try copying to a different usb disc or device, if it does work, you should reformat and check the san disc for potential future failing

SanDisk Cruzer Micro 2GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive now tells me that it is a read only file. I copied a file and renamed it. Now when I do new work I get a message that tells me I have a read only disc or

Open a command prompt and remove all file bits.Windows Button > type CMD and press enter.
  • CD <drive letter:\> press enter
  • attrib -R -A -H -S <file path\file name>

This will clear the read-only bit, archive, system and hidden bits.

Also right click the file and go to security and make sure you have write permission to the file.

Also verify this flash drive doesn't have a physical write protect switch

Hello, I have Sandisk Cruzer blade 4 gb pendrive. But now it shows I/O error while copying data to it. please give a solution.

Copy all the files from it to your 'C:' drive, and burn the files to one DVD-recordable disk.
Then, responsibly recycle the SanDisk, and spend $10 to buy a new flash-drive.
Copy the files from the 'C:' drive, or the DVD disk onto the new flash-drive.
Keep multiple copies of your files, just in case this "new" flash-drive also "fails".

I want to save the files on my gigaware flash drive that needs to be reformated. How can I save my files? I have adobe, word, and powerpoint presentations saved to the drive.

make a folder on your C: drive, name it what ever (San4) stick the San Disk in your usb port. get up my computer, find the San Disk, right click on it, on the open menu find "copy" and click on it. then get up your C: drive, find the folder you made (San4) right click on the folder and select "Paste" from the menu and every thing on the San Disk will be copied to a file called San4 on your "C" drive

I just bought a new computer and I need to transfer files

A SanDisk Cruzer Mini is a memory stick, like a modern floppy disk. Plug it into a USB port (a thin rectangular hole) - it may be at the back of your computer. Your computer should then recognise it and you can copy files onto it.

SanDisk Cruzer® Micro 2GB WON'T Download pictures

Try using Windows Explorer to copy them. I'll try to help you out.

When you plug the drive in and a window pops up, select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer". If they show up in the right pane as thumbnails, select View>Details from the menu at the top.

Left click the top picture, then scroll all the way down to the bottom. Press and hold the <Shift> key, then left click the last picture in the list. This should highlight all the files.

Right click on any of the pics, then go down to "Send to...". This opens several choices, but you probably should choose "My Documents". This will copy all of your pics into your My Documents folder.

Once you get them there you can move them to your My Pictures folder in much the same way.
