Question about Jenn-Air JGR8855BDS Gas Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Jenn-Air JGR8855BDS Gas to propane conversion

Is there any regulator adjustment or orface replacement necessary for this process. I was told all that was necessary was tighten down the burner nozzles by a home depot sales person but there was no reference in the manual to this process.

Thanks, Karl the cabinetmaker

Propane is higher pressure than natural gas, there should be some orifices on the stove for the top burners, some have them near the top in a metal clip, some have them in a lower location, usually you can see them from the back of the stove. the oven and broiler may only need "tightened down", and the air blend will probably need adjusting for "flame color", you don't want yellow flame tips, good luck!

I have a jinnair model JA460N Gas Grill that currently runs on natural gas, I need to convert to propane. Is this possible and if so is there a conversion kit available?

Yes, I believe a kit is available. If you purchased this Jenn Air grill from Lowe's, it was manufactured by Nexgrill Industries. Not Jenn Air. In any event, Lowe's no longer sells the Jenn-Air line of grills. My very best advice is to contact Nexgrill Customer Service @ 800-913-8999. In addition to the burner orifice parts you'll have to have, you will also need a grill tank Hose/Regulator Assembly.

Hope this helps and Happy Grilling!

Jenn Air 730-0163 need to convert from natural gas to propane

If you purchased your Jenn Air grill at Lowe's, you'll need to contact Nexgrill Manufacturing, the manufacturer of that grill. 800-913-8999 Don't forget, in addition to the burner conversion parts, you will need a grill hose/regulator assembly. This is not part of the conversion kit.

Happy Grilling!

Its set up for natural gas is there a kit to make it propane

yes, probably behind unit down at bottom right lookng at back of unit, it is a bunch of orifices in a metal bracket that you have to remove, pull out bottom door and access screws that hold them in there, instructions are in owners manual but dont forget to switch over the regulator and screw back over orfices all the way untill they stop or you''ll get soot in oven

Ge profile propane conversion burners work fine but can't get oven flames to correct size they come into oven cavity. all conversion procedures were done according to instuctions by my plumber. any...

The gas regulator should have had the oriface changed in it, the oricafe in the gas valve is different, and the air adjustment where the gas goes into the burn may require adjustment. Contact your propane supplier, they do not want you blown up and may come out and adjust this for free.

Can not adjust flame.

It sounds like the grill just needs a good cleaning, plus when you do clean it check that the burner tubes and orfaces are free of any debris.
The orface is a tiny hole inside a small brass threaded insert where the gas blows through into the burner tubes, it is very critical that this is clear as well as the burner tubes.

Tappan Range Model TGF351ESJ Nat. Gas to Propane

Yes you can convert the range

2. Provide an adequate gas supply.
This unit is pre-set to operate on 4" natural gas manifold
pressure. Aconvertible pressure regulator is connected to the
manifold and MUST be connected inseries with the gas supply
line. If the LP/Propane conversion kit has been used, follow
instructions provided with the kit for converting the pressure
regulator to LP/Propane use. The LP kit can be found on the
back side of the range (some models).

I yours does not have the kit on back go to sears to get one.

Good Luck

Natural gas to propane

GE is one company which generally includes all necessary parts and instructions for conversion to LP with the range without having to order or purchase anything extra. Check the mini manual in the white envelope pasted to the back of the range for instructions. Generally, the LP orifices are in a metal holder near the gas regulator (right where the gas connects to the range). You will have to flip the plunger in the center of the regulator and turn down the collar (with a 1/2 inch open end wrench) on the oven burner and broil burner about 3 full turns. Air shutters are usually OK without any adjustments.

Jenn air propane grill conversion

It is inconceivable to me that large manufacturers like Jenn-Air and Nexgrill can jointly make and sell an expensive grill and then completely abandon the consumer. I purchased an Jenn-Air 740-0142 LPG and like so many wanted to convert to nautural gas which requires a larger gas orifice. I spent a month on the internet and phone calling Jenn-Air and finally Nexgrill who actually manufactured the unit in China. The Jenn-Air and Nexgrill serial numbers are the same. the 740 prefix is LPG and the 750 prefix is natural gas. After three calls to Nexgrill I found a manager who actually acknowledged making Jenn-Air but declined selling me parts for it as I believe they have product liability concerns. I call back as a Nexgrill owner and finally ordered natural gas orifices at $10.00 each. The shipment never showed up. Calling back again I was told that they really didnt really have any orifices in stock but could sell me the entire replacement gas valve for $28.00 which I purchased. The valves actually arrived on the shipping receipt was from The Grill Services in City of Industry 909-718-6128 www.grillservices.com . Part number 750-0141/142/593/594.

Forget about pirates in Somalia... we have them right here. Shame on you Jenn-Air and Nextgrill.
