These files we transfered from the Olympus VN 2100PC voice recorded to the Olympus Digital Wave Player, which is the program that came with the recorder. Anyway I uploaded them from the VN-2100 voice recorder to the Digital Wave Player Program. The files are first seen in A Folder in the program. After renaming them I elected to move them to B Folder that I thought I would use just for the Bible Study files. When I hit the transfer button to move the files from A to B Folder, there left the screen, which I thought was OK. When I opened B Folder to access the files they were not there. I restarted the program, tried every option that I thought might be available but they were nowhere to be found. That is my problem. I named the files Revelation Study 1, then 2 then 3. As far as the file extension goes. I don't know because I negelected to check that. I suppose if I loaded another file and then checked the extension maybe I could hunt the file buy typing that extension after Revelation Study 1. Anyway at this point I'm missing these three files.

Hi, I'm the guy who originally posted the lost files problem. After trying Bubbabear64,s suggestions with no positive results, I decided to use the installation disk and reinstall the Digital Wave Program. Before the installation could begin, I had to Delete the original installation. My thought was, " If the files are still on the harddrive they will no doubt be gone after the original installation is deleted. Anyway I went ahead and deleted the program, then reinstalled the program and much to my surprise, my files were back. I don't know where they were but I got them back by doing the re installation. Thanks for the help. By the way I just bought a zoom h2 digital recorder for recording our band practice sessions. I don't have it figured out yet but it is supposed to provide better than CD quality recordings. Cheers

If you go into the program files folder of the Digital Wave Player where the files are found, are they in there?

If nothing has been deleted in the recycle bin yet, check in there and see if they can be restored.

Transfer olm files to apple mail (mbox)

Follow the steps and you will be able to import your mails easily
1. open outlook 2011
2. create a local folder
3. drag all your local emails to the folder we have created
4. then drag the local folder we have created to the lion's desktop (once it will finish, we'll have a .mbox file)
5. open mail
6. In Mail, choose File > Import Mailboxes -> choose .mbox file

You can use Exchange or IMAP accounts to have all the files on the
server, and then in Mail, but you would need significant storage space
there if you have a lot of e-mails.

You can use software approach to solve your problem. There are various softwares available online for this problem. One I know is Olm converter pro.

Hi usually data do not be recover from dead flash drive but please try this option:
  • Be prepared beforehand

Installing any software after data loss will increase the risk of the lost data being overwritten. A recovery program installed now is good insurance for your data.

Free recovery software. There are many good free recovery programs out there. Installing one now may be the difference in keeping and loosing valuable data.

    Commercial recovery software

Commercial recovery software will increase the chances of recovering important data. It's not free but can be well worth the price.
  • Step 2What to do

Use your system as little as possible until you recover all of your lost files.

The more activity taking place on your hard diskmag-glass_10x10.gif, the greater chance that some of your lost data will be over written. If you are trying to recover files from a media card, stop using that card immediately.

Hi i m qaiser from Karachi Pakistan. I need (.dbx) software to open my saved emails from outlook to my documents folder. so please solve this what can i do to solve this problem?

If you do lose your messages, you can try using my DBXtract program to
attempt to recover the lost messages. Note that dbx files are hidden in
    Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

If you have upgraded your version of IE and OE or your OS version, and all your messages are lost, then see this article (note that the technique in
the article does not only apply to the issue addressed in the article

OLEXP: Mail Folders, Address Book, and E-mail Messages Are Missing After You Upgrade to Microsoft Windows XP;en-us;313055linke.gif

If File | Import | Messages does not work, ignore the error message, which is erroneous in itself, and try one of the following techniques to get your messages back:
aa. Right click on each dbx file or a selection of them and go to
Properties and clear the read only attribute of the files. Then try File | Import | Messages again.
bb. Import the dbx files individually. See the last paragraph on this page
    for how to do that:
cc. As a last resort use DBXtract

File/Folder Permission Message in Pinnacle Studio 11 Plus

    Hello welcome to FIxya!

Here you can check this procedure on how to open your files again.

    "1) Check your Recycle Bin
    2) Do a Folder/File Search for each of the Grey Folder Project names. This will display all Folders & Files with that Project Name. You are looking for an .stx File. If it's there, right-Click on Project Name / Open Containing Folder & Copy it to your My Projects Folder. Then you should have both the Grey Folder & .stx File for the same Project name, showing in your My Projects Folder.
If the Search doesn't display a .stx File, you can create a new one, by Opening a New empty Project, which will create a My Movie Grey Folder & a My Movie .stx File, Save to your My Projects Folder. Delete the My Movie Grey Folder & Rename the My Movie .stx File to the same name as your original Grey Folder."
    So ...after finding my "lost" movie file, with its file name, under Documents\Pinnacle Studio\My Projects i then went through the following procedures using your great advice Colour;
    1. Make a copy of your found "lost" movie grey film icon file by right mouse clicking on your lost file and choosing "copy". Paste the copy into another folder in Documents where you can find it if need be
    2. Then go back to Documents\Pinnacle Studio\My Projects and right mouse click onto your grey film icon. Choose "rename". Then rename your "lost" grey film icon to a new file name but do not put .stc at the end of the file name, if you are operating VISTA and Pinnacle 12. This is important because Pinnacle 12 won't recognise the file later if you have .stc in the file name
    3. Open Pinnacle and go to the File Menu
    4. Click on New Project
    5. Open File Menu again and click on Save File as
    6. Give the file a name such as "Movie 7" and save it
    7. Close out of Pinnacle
    8. Open up Documents\Pinnacle Studio\My Projects and observe that you now have 2 new files there ...a grey film icon file saying Movie 7 AND a coloured Pinnacle icon file saying Movie 7
    9. Delete the grey icon file with the file name Movie 7
    10. Now give your coloured Pinnacle icon file the exact same rename as your precious "lost" renamed grey movie icon file, using the right mouse click on rename proceedure as explained in No.2 above.
    11. Close out of Documents file
    12. Now open up Pinnacle again
    13. Go to Menu and choose Open Project
    14. There you will see the coloured Pinnacle icon file with the new name of your "lost" movie file.
    15. Click onto its coloured Pinnacle icon, and watch your "lost" movie come into view again

My Book files and folders disappeared

For me, the problem has now been resolved. What I was really worried about was the 18 Gb of data that I thought I had lost. I was however able to find the containing folder by going into the "Tools" menu in the Explorer window. After selecting "Folder Options" I chose the "View" tab and marked "Show hidden files and folders" and unmarked "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)". Nothing happened at first but when I came back to my drive later I found a hidden folder with all the data I lost that had some funny extension to it. Can't remember what it was but someone I spoke to thought it could be the result of an incomplete file transfer being interrupted. So it seems my problem wasn't more severe than this. However, everytime I try to use Safely Remove Hardware to disconnect my WD 500Gb it says I can't and that I should try later. So there's my new problem: how to disconnect the drive without interrupting a (non-visible) data transfer...

I have this problem too. Found that if you go to the folder that has the music file in it, right click on each problem file and select 'open with -> " and choose Sonic stage, then it will import the file. Next problem may be that it imports it with 'unknown' as the file name but if you then right click on the file within SonicStage and select 'Get CD info' it will find it. Tedious if you have several dozen/hundred files that won't import I'm afraid...
