Thought checking the pump did it, was so happy once i did a load of sheets. however once i wanted to do another load, it started fine, the a clicking noise and machine stop washing, tub not going back and forth. what next.would love to have the machine working before husband comes home. tell him I fixed it. please help clothes are still in washer.
Unfortuneately, while you did answer what origionaly happened, I see no mention of whether or not the test of pushing on the top center worked, so I will have to assume it didn't.
From the new information you've provided, it sounds like you have a pump problem. The pump runs at the begining of the cycle (the noise before the wash) and again when it tries to drain. Since you know how to clean out the trap on the washer, I would first recommend you follow those steps again. Now that you have the water drained out, check to the right hand side there is a hole. Try getting your finger in there to feel for any forign objects that passed beyond the trap. If you can't feel anything, try the following steps. I will need you to remove the pump. First start by removing the # 20 torx bit screw at the botom center of the pump. once that is out, slide the pump forward and lift it up. There are 2 hoses attached to the back of the pump. Both have the same style of clamps holding them on. Squeeze the clamps together using a pair of pliers and while squeezing, slide the hoses off. Now on the right hand side of the pump you will see 2 small wires going into it. There is a cover over where they enter. Hook your fingers over the botom right hand side of this cover and using your thumb on top of the pump to leverage, lift with your fingers. Underneath there is a connector with a tab sticking out of it. Push down on the tab and slide the connector out. Now the pump is free. Turning it over, look down the smaller of the 2 holes with a flash light. is there anything wrapped up in there? Does the paddel wheel looking part turn freely? While I don't want to have you running out and purchasing a replacement pump either online from the manufacture or from a local appliance parts store, this is my best guess from the information you've provided as to where the problem lies. If these steps don't take care of it, just message me back.
