Hp Pavillion dv2500 loads windows vista, but before the log in screen comes up, i get a popup saying "LoadKey failed with error 1392 (STHIVE#0)" No matter what I do from there, I get just a blank blue screen. Mouse still works, though.

    HI.
Anyone have any luck with this? What does the jury say?  I have this same problem but my Pavilion does not boot up at all. Has anyone tried this before? I talked to a techie who thought it was related to the HP hardware. Another said that the problem was was due to corrupt files and perhaps a virus. Anyone? Help!

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

The existing installation has become corrupt. Do a fresh install. You may need to wipe the disk to ensure a problem free new installation

You need to set your system to output to the port the TV is on.
If it is a laptop, there is an F key to change from LCD to LCD+VIDEO to VIDEO.
If it is a desktop you need to go into your display settings (control panel or rt clk desktop/properties or whatever system you have).

How to restart hp pavillion 7965 desktop

Hi there. Try these steps:

1. On restart, press F8. This should bring you to a screen with various boot options.

2. Select "Last known good configuration". Windows then may load correctly.

3. If this doesn;t work, try the same thing. This time select "boot in Safe Mode". If Windows now loads in Safe Mode you should be able to restart and Windows may load correctly after this.

4. If these two both fail, you may have to repair Windows...

This means this program not compatible with Vista.

You need to uninstall the program, and reboot the system.

Now there is a way to install with XP compatibility, 80% of the time this will work. (if this does not work, you will just have to find the version of the program that works with Vista)

To install with XP compatibility:
Running the Vista Program Compatibility Wizard 1) Click on Start
2) Click on Control Panel
3) Click on Programs
4) Click on Use an older program with this version of Windows.
5) Then just follow the instructions in the Wizard.

Insert the installation disc for the program. Open the Compatibility Wizard. In the Wizard, browse to the program's setup file (Setup.exe, Install.exe, etc.)
