Hi there,
Firstly, was the ghd purchased from a salon? It sounds like the same problem ghd had with counterfeits!
If it was, the first thing to do is contact ghd. The ghd 4 (latest model which came about about 4 years ago) has a two year warranty and should swap it out for you.
If it is out of warranty, they do offer a 'reconditioning service' depending on where in the world you are.
Hope this is of some help.

How do you use a conair straightener? what does the dial with the numbers mean?

The settings 1-10 are for wet and easy-to straighten hair. Like hair that is a little thinner or almost straight.
The settings 11-17 are for damp hair that is about average thickness.
The settings 18-23 are for hair that is thick or wavy.
Lastly, the settings 24-30 are for dry hair that is harder to straighten.

So, the higher up you go, the higher the difficulty the hair is.
Hope this helps! :]

Dear Team, itook the multistyler recently I,am trying to staighten my hair the moment i straighten it will be staright but the next few hours it be the same as earlier my hair was.Kindly suggest.

Hi, Just my dear advice that the straightening of the hair happens perfectly only with the correct heat and applied pressure. If you can get this to your hair styler, he could demonstate the best way or can comment on the efficiency of the product.
Must see if the heat is enough or the positioning is correct,

Vidal sassoon model vs2085a streightners, red light wont stop flashing and they dont heat up ?

I have found that current devices that heat up (hair dryers, straighteners etc...) all are made so flimsy that at a certain heat point, the shut off.

I also have come to realize and expect that there IS A SHORT LIFE EXPECTANCY for any heating electrical product.

If your device is new, I would return it. If it's old, buy a new inexpensive one (on sale) .... MAKE SURE YOU BUY ONE THAT YOU KNOW IS GOING TO HAVE A RELATIVELY SHORT LIFESPAN. Silver color does not mean metal nor a longer lifespan. Buy cheap, use and replace as needed.

It's an eco-nightmare, but once a heating product goes out, it is too dangerous to even think you can fix it yourself without risk of potential major fire. It may look fixed and you then come home and it's burned to the ground.

Be careful and wise.

Defective power cord on CHI GF1001 flat iron straightener

My wife's flat iron had an issue with losing power while moving the iron around. I at first thought it was a cord issue, but before tearing into the cord, I disassembled her iron by popping off the two "CHI" covers from either side of the fulcrum. This revealed a screw which when taken out allows you to push the pin out releasing the handle's spring mechanism. Once opened, you can see the power-swivel thing-a-ma-jig and I saw the positive (red) wire had come off of the little flat board mounted on the swivel piece. I simply re-soldered the wire back on to the flat board and BAM! Good as new!

What the difference betwen conair wet-dry ceramic straightener and the infinity nano system

the differnece is that rhe wt-dry ceramic straightener is only 20% ceramic and burns your hair while the infinity nano system straightener is better but still leaves your hair with a burnt smell. If you have that burnt smell it means your hair is frying. Use a damage repair shapoo and conditioner

Hair straightener not heating up

It sounds to me like the thermal cutoff switch has blown. Straighteners havethese as a safety device similar to a fuse to protect against fire inthe event it gets too hot. These are not very costly to replace. Here is a link to where you can buy them and what they look like:

Make sure you get one of the exact same cutoff point as the onedesigned for yours. If you put in a higher temp device it will beharder to blow but will make it dangerous as it may cause a fireif it over heats. Some shady repair men will just bypass this and it will work again fine but this is a dangerous practice as itdirectly puts you of danger. If you do have it repaired at a shopdemand for the old thermal cutoff from your unit when you drop it offso the tech will know you know what is wrong with it and that you willcheck to make sure that it has really been changed. This will also notgive him the chance to over charge you when he knows you know it isonly a 1 dollar part and easy to change.
This device is very easyto change, If you can open your unit you could easily do this yourself. The part, as you will see on the site where you buy them, only has 2wires one coming out of each end. You simply cut out the old 1 andreplace it with the new one. You do not even have to worry which endgoes where. It is like a fuse, it works the same either direction. Youhave to buy some wire crimp connector to connect it, you can not justsolder it in due to the heat in the iron. In a pinch you could justsecurely twist the ends of the leads with the leads from the old cutoffif you clip the leads from the old cutoff real close to the device. This will leave you with plenty of wire to get a good twist. I alwaysuse the crimp connectors so it looks more professional.
Anyway, Ihope you found this to be helpful and if you need more help feel freeto ask me. I will stay with you on this until we have it fixed.
