It is in your top threading, believe it or not. Sounds odd but it is. Try this, insert a new needle (flat side facing the rear of machine), totally rethread according to your manual or go to www.sewusa.com for a free threading diagram, make sure that your presser foot is up, now when you are totally threaded, with the presser foot still up, pull on the top thread, it should feed smoothly, put the presser foot down and pull the thread again, it should barely move. This should seat the thread in the tension discs. If that doesn't do it, I am afraid that you may need a repair shop. Good luck.

I cannot adjust bottom tension on Pfaff creative 1.5 straight stitch

Hello Mary Jane,
Are there loops on the underside of the stitching? This means that the top tension is too loose -- increase the needle tension.

Are there loops on the topside of the stitching? This means that the top thread is too tight -- decrease the needle tension.

The user manual refers to this on pages 30 and 35. The manual is available free at

http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/creative-line/creative1_5/Manual/creative_1-5_manual_EN.pdf

Please give be a thumbs up if this is helpful, otherwise please provide more information.

The decorative stitch mechanism on my pfaff 1222 does not work

since it's a pfaff, I suggest having the machine checked to
see if a part or gear has become damaged and needs to be replaced
or the stitch mechanism may need some type of adjustment.

Hello! My reliable 1222 has hit a snag. When try to sew, the top thread is not being picked up by the bobbin thread. How can I fix it? Pavla

try changing the needle
clean under the needle plate & in bobbin area for loose threads & lint
try rethreading the machine top & bobbin, make sure to get every thread guide
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly in the bobbin case

1222 Pfaff can not adjust to a large stitch

Will need more info to help you. Is the white dot on the zig-zag dial still at the top? If not you will NEED (no way around it) a zig-zag dial rebluild. Most pfaff repair shops do not know how to do this repair, will need to find a 1222 expert.
This is my gess with what you have told me.
Hope this helps
