LCD screen

My camera got wet, now the LCD screen on the back of the camera is blank - gray - when I turn it on. Is it possible to repair this or will it be so expensive, I should just go buy another one. If buying another one is your answer, can you suggest another good Nikon digital camera (not extremely expensive or hard to operate. I loved the Coolpix 5600!)
