Hi. I am looking to install a new video card for my gateway gt5012 to enhance gaming. ( world of warcraft) I currently have: Chip type: Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family DAC type: Internal Display...

You need to purchase a PCI-Express video card.
Your current graphics are built into the motherboard, so you don't need to remove anything, just install the card in the PCI-E 16x slot.

Bear in mind, that you should not try to purchase a power-hungry card, as your PC's power supply is only rated at 300W. Also you will need to make sure that - if the card needs a special power connection plugged directly into it - there exists a lead coming out of your power supply with suitable connector.

Summing up, you'll need to open your case to look for the extra power lead for graphics card, and shop for a card that either accepts the power connector you have, or does not need additional power.

Gt5012 graphics pixilate then computer shuts itself off

Sounds like a graphics card problem. If your using a card, try the onboard graphics by removing the card and test the response. You may need a new card or send it back under warranty.

Computer crashed, not sure how to recover it and what to use.

TRY BOOTING WHILE PUSHING F10 OR F11. MOST GATEWAY AND EMACHINES HAVE A RECOVERY PARTITION FOR A BACK TO FACTORY RECOVERY.

Upgrade video card

Any of the cards here are suitabl,e with almost all under $100 and are all PCI Express x 16
Your mobo is not suitable for the PCI X 2.0
Remember the amount of memory on the video card comes from your available ram - so you need to consider this when buying if you dont have much ram.
