Insert a pin into the hole in the back of the router, and it will reset.

I need a diagram of how to hook up a wireless route

What kind of router?
What are you trying to connect to it?
What have you tried?
Usually a wireless router broadcasts a signal and lets you know it is there via an SSID.
Most people do not know to reconfigure this so they leave it at factory default settings. (Netgear, Linksys)
Also, the default ip address of most wireless routers are dependent on what kind or routers brand you have.
I would first connect to your router using a CAT5 cable (the one that looks like a bigger telephone jack)
This will determine that your router is processing the internet connection.
If it is, then you can start to configure your wireless.
Default, go to your computer's system tray (usually the group of icons at the bottom right of your screen)
There should be a little antenna, or two computers with a bouncing green or red dot) double click on it and a new window will pop up asking you to choose which connection you want.
you can then pick your connection and the computer's wifi will try to connect.
If there are several of the same type, connect to one and then turn your router off. If you stay connected, that was not yours.
When you have yours connected, write to us again with model numbers and we can try to help you set up a SECURE network.
A friend who knows what to do is a good solution too.
Good luck.

Setting up printer on home network

Because your printer is not either wireless or network capable, the only way to get the results you need is to purchase a usb print server, hook it to your router, set it up through it's management console, and if your router is wireless, you can hook up to your router and print to your printer with your desktop turned on or off.

Wireless connection set up

Are you trying to hook up the laptop wirelessly to the pc? because then the pc would need to have a wireless card as well....sounds like I need more info, but if you are trying to do what I think you are, you should just get a wireless router instead, hook the pc tower directly to it via ethernet cable, and then setup the laptop to connect to the router. The router would hook to your dsl or cable router....what service do you have?

you may need to reset router to factory settings. look in documents or their website for instructions that apply to your router.
Also, I assume you have everything powered off when switching cables.

Log into the router so you can see the settings. Somewhere under WAN settings there should be something for you to "clone MAC address" click on that so the router clones the MAC address from the computer and this should work.

I am trying to hook up my wireless router at a family members home, and it wont connect to the internet.

If you have settings from your home on the routher you need to RESET IT TO FACTORY. You need to REBOOT ALL the PC's in the house on that router as well to release the IP it currently has and renew with the new router. Also reboot the roter and the cable modem so it can issue a new IP to the router.
( There should be a small reset hole on the router that you can use a paper clip to reset it.)
You also need to make sure that if they have a cable modem that the router is compatible with the modem. They can call their provider for that info.

I tried to connect netgear WG111v2 but got problem istallation is not able to connect wirelesly

Uninstall any software the router came with on any of the computers, it's not needed.

Reset the router by holding down the small pinsized hole in the back for 20 seconds.

Make sure modem is hooked up to router IN port.

Make sure all Windows updates are installed in a PC.

Make sure wireless card switch is in the on position.

DO NOT encrypt anything at first, try connecting under an open network. Meaning do not change any of the routers factory settings. If you can connect, continue form here to encrypt. Hope this helps!!!!

Try resetting your IP address:
The laptop may be trying to use the IP address from the old router.

1) Click Start (assuming Windows 2000, XP, or Vista)
2) Click Run
3) Type in CMD
This will take you to a black command box
4) Type in: ipconfig/release
The chart should show your IP address as 0.0.0.0
Once this has happened, proceed to step 5
5) Type in: ipconfig/renew
You should now see a new IP address listed.

Also note that you need to set up your network key (assuming that you are using one) on both the router and laptop.
Make sure that your router is set up to perform as DHCP server.
