Question about Computers & Internet

Certain websites are simply not working. I just reformatted my pc and the problem persists. I have no idea what might be the cause.

I have narrowed it down to a problem where a few websites (most notably microsoft.com and myspace.com) are being somehow redirected elsewhere. Upon doing a Google scan of the suspicious address given me (65.74.135.110) it seems to be originating from a company by the name of Herakles or some other such... I am a bit unsure as to how to proceed, but I know it is not a problem with my browser as I have tried several and indeed even reformatted in a (vain) attempt to fix it. I do indeed have the latest version of Firefox and have also tried IE to no avail. My AVG never caught any whiff of a virus (and I keep it looking consantly) nor has anything else been acting funky. Microsoft being out of my reach means I cannot update jack as far as Windows is concerned and it is getting a bit annoying. Further help or suggestions would be very highly appreciated!

Check to make sure you have no pop-up bloker on. Also, make sure that the sites haven't been blocked out. Check to make sure you are using an up to date inernet browser, eg: Internet Explorer 7, available for download here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx
Check with your server if this doesnt help. If this browser is incompatible with your system, check this link out for older versions. http://oldversion.com/program.php?n=msie

See if going into safemode would get you the same error, if the error persists, then it could be hardware related issue if it doesnt, simply reformat your OS.

Reset forgotten password

There is a certain level that you simply cannot. It may be best to take stock of what programs you'd lose and determine if it would be better to wipe the laptop via reformatting it and reinstalling your OS.

Evite website keeps freezing up. Both in chrome and explorer. works on another computer just fine. popups have been allowed. cookies and cache are cleared. It seems to freeze up when it's trying to...

Fixing Hardware or Software Issues

  • If the freeze happens every time a certain hardware device is plugged in or switched on, the device itself might be to blame. Check the manufacturer's website for updated drivers for the device, and download and install them to erase any bugs that might exist in your version. Similarly, if the freeze only happens when using one particular application, that program might also be the root cause. Check the developer's website for updates. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the program. This process replaces any software files or settings that may have been damaged or deleted.

Overwhelming a PC's processor or memory by requests can also lead to the computer freezing up. If the issue occurs when large files or complex applications are being handled, shut down any running application or background utilities you don't need for the project you're working on. This frees up CPU time and RAM space. Within individual programs, avoid opening up multiple files or websites at the same time. If the problem persists and if opening multiple large files simultaneously can't be avoided, consider a hardware upgrade
Please follow this instruction.

God bless you

MSI web cam stopped working on Friday. No idea why? I believe there was a Windows7 update that day?? SOmething called Microsoft Silverlight is now showing in my programs. The camera is a USB2.0 webcam.

If you think that a certain Microsoft "update" caused this, simply go to Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs. Try to uninstall the recently installed updates and restart your system. If the web cam is still not functioning, try to uninstall it then re-install.

Keyboard stopped responding on reboot after

Try booting into safe mode and then uninstall it and reinstall it from there. Safe mode runs only certain processes, in which case if there is any interference coming from your card in normal mode, it won't have that in safe mode. If the problem persists - and the machine does not have any malware infections that may cause this problem, contact the supplier of the card to see if there is a bypass around this supposed incompatibility issue. If my ideas work, please do rate me. Thanks.

I just picked up a IBM T30 laptop. I reformatted the hard drive and installed XPPRO. Everything works fine except the sound. I cannot get the sound to work. I have tried everything I could find. Any ideas?

Hello there:
when you reformatted your laptop any of the drivers that originally came with the computer were removed. if you have internet connection i would go to the website of the manufacture of the computer and download the drivers for the soundcard and also the (vinal ac 97 combo pac) works good for most of the computers.
Also if you have your upddates turned on the updates can also help recover the lost drivers. ok these are just a few ideas that may help get you going if you need more please let me know cause there is still more i can show you ok?
best regards michael

Did you upgrade or totally reload the os from scratch? Usually improper shut down sequences are caused by corrupted os.
