Right Click on the Desktop, Click "Properties", then "Settings" slide the arrow on the bottom left to the far right hand side. You've changed the resolution which "zooms out" or makes everything smaller. :)

How to widen my screen

    • 1 Use the zoom in and out shortcut with your mouse. Many programs such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Microsoft Word allow users to zoom in and out quickly using their mouse and keyboard. Hold down the "Control" ("Ctrl") key, and then move the mouse wheel forward to zoom in or backward to zoom out until the text fits your screen to your liking.
    • 2 Use the zoom command from your program's menus. If you don't have a mouse with a wheel or the mouse zoom shortcut does not work, try locating a "zoom" command in the "View" menu of your program. Many programs have an option to zoom in and out under the "View" menu, which will make text larger or smaller. You may have to select "Zoom in" or "Zoom out" several times before the text is the right size.
    • 3 Change your screen resolution. Altering your screen resolution can change the size of windows and text on your screen. Right click the desktop, select "Properties" (Windows XP) or "Personalize" (Windows Vista and 7), click the "Settings" tab (XP), or the "Display Settings" link (Vista) or click "Display" and then "Adjust Screen Resolution" (7). Adjust the resolution slider up or down, click "Apply" and then click "OK."

The whole screen is now tiny..i may have pressed something last nite but cant remember as i was drunk.lol..thanks again

There are a couple of things to check. If you have a "zoom" button on your keyboard, you can try pressing +(;larger) or-(smaller), you may have to press "CTRL" at the same time. you may also have the option to click on the "tools" icon, in upper right in taskbar, it may look like a gear. Right click on this abd, if you see a zoom option, click on that and pick your size. Another place to check is in your "control panel". Right click on "personalization", then "display settings". look at your resolution "slide bar" and if resolution is too high, no higher than 1024 x 768, slide it down some, this will shrink the size of display. If this does it for you restart. If this doen't do it for you click on "adjust font size(DPI). You should see "smaller font" with an empty box next it it. If the box is empty, click on that, then "apply", lower right, Then ok. You will have to resatart to make this take effect. That's it.

Change size of fomts

There are a couple of different ways to do this. If you have a "zoom" button on your keyboard with +(larger) and -(smaller) you can use that, you may have to hols down "Alt" for this to work. If you have a tools icon, might look like a gear, at the top right of your screen, click on that, and if you see "zoom", click on that and choose your font size. You can also try clicking on "start" at the lower left of your screen, then on "control panel". In your list(icons), find "personalization" right click on, and open. At the top left of screen, you will see "adjust font size(DPI). Click on that and you will see "larger font size" with an empty white circle on the left. Click on the empty circle, then restart for it to take effect. You can also do a custom DPI in that same window. Make sure you restart after each change of font size. If you figured out your zoom, you can adjust font size whenever you want.

I have a HP Pavilion Elite M9500y desktop PC. The problem I'm having is my web page text size are way too large. Can you help me get my pc back to the correct size? I appreciate any help. Thank you, Melani...

Hi,
Depending on the browser you are using you could get smaller text just pressing Ctrl and - If you press Ctrl and + you get bigger text.
If you let me know the browser you are using maybe I can help further if this does not solve it.

  • If you have a mouse with a wheel, hold down the CTRL key, and then scroll the wheel to zoom in or out.

  • If you click the Change Zoom Level button c3f4930f-73f0-494b-a11a-eba6f829dede.png, it will cycle through 100%, 125%, and 150%, giving you a quick enlargement of the webpage.

  • From the keyboard you can increase or decrease the zoom value in 10% increments. To zoom in, press CTRL+PLUS SIGN (+). To zoom out, press CTRL+MINUS SIGN (-). To restore the zoom to 100%, press CTRL+0.

My site pages have become to large to fit on my screen.

This most likely one of two things.
Either you have changed your screen resolution (can be adjusted by right clicking on desktop and changing settings - exact options vary depending on OS)
Or you may have accidentally activated your browsers zoom function try pressing "ctrl" and "-" to zoom out or "ctrl" and "+" to zoom in.

HP laptop desktop screen seems to be zoomed in . all icons and wallpaper seem to appear quite large .

There is an opion under conrol panel, accessibility options to zoom or enlarge fonts etc. for visually impaired people.. But also I guess there might be a hot key you have hit by accident, that zooms the desk top. What model of HP? Also right mouse click the desktop, click properties & check the 'appearance' settings.. There is an option for large icons & fonts. Maybe the HP hotkeys hook into that Windows option. Rgds,
