These kind of problems are best solved by actually coming over to the house and fixing the problem, its hard for me to start giving you instructions on what to check and what todo.

well try refreshing your connection.. heres how

press start -> run -> type in the box CMD

in the black window that just opened on the laptop, type in ipconfig

can you post me everything you see there?

Heres a example what would show up

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ipconfig
Windows IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Integ:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : ********.fi
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 91.******.241
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.*******.0

When running install shield wizard on windows xp it keeps coming up cannot connect to the internet, How can I fix this?

What are you trying to install? Whatever it is seems to need access to the internet to complete installation. You probably have a download manager that obtains the software from the server then install it on your machine. This is fairly usual now but ensure that you know which program is trying to access the web.
In order to resolve this issue all you have to do is to make sure you are connected to the internet when trying to complete this particular software installation

Internet explorer cannot display webpage

If you were able to post this question online from the computer in question, you have internet access. If this was posted from another computer, you don't have access at all so contact your internet provider. If it was posted from that computer, a trip to the store for it to be checked for corruption and/or viruses/malware is recommended. If you want someone to remotely access your computer to help, internet access is necessary so you need to determine that first.

Emachine will not run Hughes' Net to reach internet--EL1852G---can anyone help?

Online access problems are hard to diagnose. There are so many settings on either your modem, router, wireless device, and at your provider's end that could be the problem. Invite a geek for a beer to fix it.

You can access your e-mail from any computer anywhere in the world that has Internet access using the WEB mail access. You do not have to use your home computer.
Open a browser and type your service provider's WEB address, in this case -
www.sbcglobal,net
Then click on Mail or WEB mail enter your login and password to access your e-mail.

3 Easy Tactics on How to Fix Blue Screen of Death The famous windows Blue Screen of Death(BSOD Error) can be fixed with 3 types of Blue Screen Death Repair. Try to apply the following tactics when the blue screen death occur before you call a computer expert for help.
1. Uninstall any programs which you had installed recently.
Sometimes, there exists a conflict in drivers installed on your pc that causes the blue screen error to pop up. In most cases, this does not occur, but if it does, Windows offers you a roll back feature where you possibly can bring your PC’s operating system back to its original functioning state.
2. Random Access Memory is faulty.
When the Random Access Memory is faulty, the Computer stops functioning everytime when the RAM is accessed by the CPU. This brings about your PC to halt almost at Random. A simple solution is just to remove 1 stick of RAM and see if the problem goes away. If it does, your PC is fixed!

I am getting ready to switch from dial-up to satellite internet service, I have a Compaq Presario SR1730T and need to know what type of wireless router is best or will any wireless router be compatible????

Usually the internet service provider (even satellite) provides a modem/router to access the internet. This being said to purchase a wireless router must mean that you are going to "broadcast" your satellite internet throughout the house so that others in the house can access the internet.

In that case, no it doesn't really matter what kind of wireless router to buy. Just make sure you connect your satellite modem/router (what they send you) into the wireless router correctly. Also, make sure you put a password on that wireless router so that your neighbors or unknown persons do not gain access to your internet/computer.

Thanks.

Need a network key code for the live box.

Hey ehouse1,

What XBox Live is most likely requesting from you is your Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) key to access your wireless network. Without the WPA key, your XBox will be denied internet access by your router or residential gateway.

You may generally obtain your WPA key by accessing your router/gateway from a connected computer on your home network, and by visiting the default router address through your internet browser. Please note that this default address differs from model to model, but is typically one of the two following:

http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1

Additionally, you will most likely need to have your router's user name and password handy in order to access the hardware's menu settings. Once you have access, you should be able to find your WPA key under "Security Settings" or another similarly-named option.

If you are not comfortable doing any of this or are still unsure how to proceed, I would strongly suggest contacting your internet service provider (ISP) for further assistance. Most ISP's are able to provide over-the-phone technical support and walk-throughs for their customers free of charge. In some cases, they may even be able to provide in-home networking services to help set up your Xbox.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Trying to get internet access.hp1710n, have had this difficulty for sometime, also you have eliminated my email sinc i couldn't gain access. thank you s/g.mccurley 744 5531

First check all connections to ensure that they are working fine. Next Ensure that the computer sees the Network by clicking on start and then hit connect to and open up all connections. If your computer sees it great but if not you will need to do some tests. I will get to that if we need to. I will also be willing to continue troubleshooting in a worst case situation. Now you will need to contact your internet service provider (ISP) if it is found.

Hope This Helps
All The Best,

Internet drops out when phone rings

First I'll assume that you have wireless broadband internet access. In which case the interruption is caused by your cordless phone. Cordless phones are usually 2.4 Ghz now and so are routers. Operating on the same frequency causes interference between them. Get a phone that is not 2.4 Ghz.

If you have dial-up internet access, then this is most likely caused by your dial-up connection being interrupted. Any time someone tries to call you this will happen unless you call your phone company and they can help you take the proper steps to make sure that this doesn't happen (usually that means they'll tell you how to disable call waiting).
