Dust on Drum

Printer says that it has dust on Corona wire. Where is this Located

I've had this happen twice. Last time, I think I just took the cartridge out, turned it on and off and crossed my fingers.
today, I took out the cartridge and discovered a jammed sheet. I dusted and vacuumed wherever I could reach, closed everything up and again crossed my fingers. It's working again.

WHAT AND WHERE is a corona wire?

    Thanks for being there!!!

The corona wire can be cleaned as follows:

Take the cartridge out of the printer.

As you are holding it in the same position as you took it out of the printer, in the uppper right hand corner there will be a small light blue / purplish tab with a triangle on it. The triangle points to another triangle on the black part of the cartridge.

Slide this blue tab back and forth several times. You have just cleaned your corona wire.

Make sure you slide the tab all the way back over to the right before putting the cartridge back into the printer.

Try cleaning the drum in the toner cartridge with a soft cloth. If this does not work then a replace toner cartridge is the other solution.

Dust on drum is an issue with the corona wire. Use the blue tab on top of the drum unit. Slide it back and forth 10+ times and this should correct your issue.

HOW TO CLEAN THE CORONA WIRES, i HAVE NO MANUAL. READOUT SAYS DUST ON DRUM CLEAN CORONA WIRES.

You need to open the front cover of the machine and remove the cartridge( drum and toner) On the tope right there is a tab that you need to slide from left to right about 20 times, then bring back to home position

Corona wire

I was getting the clean the corona wire problem message even after repeated cleanings.  Before this problem occured the toner light was flashing warning of low toner. When I got the clean the wire pop up the toner light was on all the time indicating the toner was depleated.  So, I thought I would try replacing the toner cartridge and see what happened. I opened the new toner box and noticed on the foil packege specific instructions to clean the corona wire when installing the new toner.  I installed the new toner and cleaned the wire one more time. I then reinstalled the drum and toner assembly into the printer and the clean the corona wire message did not come up again.  The printer now works fine.

Dust Drum

Ok when you pull the drum out you should see a blue tab . You take that tab and slide it back and forth and this will clean the corona wire. Now when your finished make sure the tab is placed back from where you first started. I hope this helps !

Dust on Drum...

I had this problem too. I took out the drum and vacuum the drum with a vacuum cleaner ( no brush ) while at the same time manually rotate the drum cyclinder. It worked. After a month or two, you might have to do it again. But everytime, it solved the dust problem.
