How do you get the cover of midland 100m mike plug...

you may have to get another plug and rewire it the same way as the one you are trying to replace. You will need a pair of wire cutters to cut the plug wire then replace it with the new one the same exact way.

Does a midland cb 40 ch have a range for distance?

  • Hi, I can help.

  • In general a CB goes roughly 1 mile per watt of power. A Midland CB out of the box will get you about 5 miles. After a Peak and Tune, a Midland CB can get out around 25 miles. If you put an SWR/Watt meter inline you can tell how much your rig is putting out.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

regards, Tony

Transmitting problem on motorcycle

  • Make sure you run the CB directly to the battery. What you are hearing is the alternator whining. Even then sometimes a low pass filter may be necessary. Make sure the chassis of your CB is grounded with a copper braid strap too.

  • Hope this helps.

Converting a different brand of mic for a midland CB

This should be a typical Midland pinout. If you are using a generic 4 pin mic that is wired to cobra/Uniden, all you have to do is switch pin 1 & 2, then 3 & 4.

Not all mics are color coded the same with their wires.
