Question about Motorola Mobility V31 RAZR GSM Cell Phone, Gold Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Display not lighting up

My son squeezed my phone real hard and now the display won't light up. Several weeks later, the ringer started ringing at a lower volume. This volume lowering continued until now I cannot hear a ring at all. Can you tell me how to fix this? And what parts should I get? It would probably be cheaper to just get a new phone, but this one was my first cell phone given to me by my granddaughter and I would love to repair it and just save it for sentimental reasons. Phone works but display sceen won't light up. The number dial does light up just the big sceen doesn"t

SOURCE: Display not lighting up

You need to repalce the LCD if the phone is open try reattaching the LCD and the buzzer. Also try and clean the contacts with an eraser, it will work. Good Luck.

The ringer doesn't ring, only vibrates. I select "settings" but there is not ringer volume level so I can hear the phone actually "ring', it only vibrates

First, make sure your Jitterbug is open and confirm it's on.

Next, Press the volume button on the outside of the phone below the Outside Display. Press the top of the button to increase the volume and the bottom of the button to decrease the volume.

There are several ringer options available to choose from. If you need additional help, you can call a customer service expert available 24 hours a day 7 days a week at 1-800-733-6632 and they will walk you step by step through the process.

You can press the softkey under RingOff and the up arrow on the Navigator button, or just press the up arrow on the navigator button two times. The display will show the ringer volume level as you continue to press the up arrow.

We have the Avaya Partner phone at work and no one can figure out how to silence the ringer. I can get the volume down but not off.

Changing ringing on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Central telephone Programming.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

Press the line that you want to ring.
A solid light on the line means immediate ringing
A slow flashing light means delayed ringing (meaning the phone will wait 3 rings before starting to ring.)
A fast flashing light means no ringing..

My uniden tect1580 doesn't ring

Hi,

First thing to try is while the phone is in "On-Hook" mode, press the up key on the handset several times, you should hear a beep each time you press the button and the display should show "Ringer Volume" with a graduating series of bars. If the display shows as above, but you do not hear any rings, try pressing the "Speaker" button and listen for the dial tone. Most of the time on these phones, it is a simple matter of turning up the ringer volume, but sometimes, the handsfree speaker (Which also acts as the ringer speaker) goes bad. If the speaker is bad, it is a fairly easy replacement if you are handy with a soldering iron.
