Cannot access menu

When press the "Select" button, all I get is the words "CID LIST", hit the button a second time and get "No CID". It will never go to the Menu as the instructions say it should.

Use the up and down button to scroll through the menu choices. Once in a menu choice, use the left and right buttons to scroll sideways. A little confusing, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature.

FYI - "CID LIST" is the first menu option, so you are in the menu at that time. As soon as you get to "CID LIST" hit the up or down button to go to the other choices. If this makes no sense, post back and I will try to help. :)

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

My Uniden Dect handset has stopped working. No dialtone. Also message on handset reads:'New CID:50'

CID(caller identification) your phone logs incoming calls in it's memory. The #30 signifies that there are 30 CID(phone #'s) logged in the memory of phone from callers. The phone saves the information for the last 50 received calls to the CID list. The NEW icon marks any calls received since the last time you checked the list. You can delete these one by one or all by pressing ID (CID# will come up) then press menu/select button I believe 3x and repeat until all unwanted CID's are deleted. page 9-10 of the Dect 6.0 manual below may help. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. https://www.101phones.com/content/pdf/un...

So your problem isn't related to that message. Disconnect your unit from the wall plug. Remove the handset battery, count to 10 and put it back. Plug the base unit in and try again. You need to check the line jack with a standard phone to make sure the line is good.

We have just purchased a Uniden Xdect 8355 series telephone. When the phone rings we get a message telling us who the call is from, how do we get rid of it?

Do you want to delete entries from the Caller ID list? This records the numbers of the last 50 incoming calls. You can't delete the entire list at once. However, you can delete one entry at a time. Press CID on one handset or base with the entire system in standby (no active calls). The CID button is to the right of the Menu/Select button. Press the Up/Down arrows (above and below Menu/Select) to select one call. Press Menu/Select to get the details of that call. If you don't see list with Delete Entry, Add to PB, and Add Call Block, press Menu/Select again. Select the Delete Entry line and press Menu/Select. Select Yes and then Menu/Select again if prompted to confirm the deletion.

When you are done, press End/Clear to exit the menu system. You'll find these directions on page 30 (page 31 of the pdf) of the manual. Uniden has the manual here: https://www.uniden.com.au/RESOURCES_MAIN/pdfs/XDECT_8355_OM.pdf .

I hope this helps.

OSD Locks Automatically

Power off your computer and then remove the monitor cable from the port on the back side of the computer case.

Reattach the cable and make sure the pins are correctly screwed in. Power the computer back on and check to see if the OSD lockout message is still being displayed.

Check the manual that came with your computer or monitor and locate the troubleshooting section if you are still receiving the OSD lockout message.
Find the OSD lockout heading and read the method that your particular model uses to remove the lockout.
Attempt generic lockout removal procedures if you no longer have the manual that came with your monitor.

Press and hold the "Menu" button located at the bottom of your monitor for 15 seconds and wait to see if the OSD lockout message disappears.

Press the "Menu" button again if the lockout message remains on the screen.
Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the main menu options.

Highlight the "Settings" or "OSD Menu" option and then hit the Menu key again to access the new list of settings.

Scroll down to the "OSD Lock" heading. Use the arrow keys to change the setting to "No." Hit the Menu key again to return to the main menu. Scroll to the "Exit" setting and then hit the Menu key a final time to exit the menu setting and remove the OSD lockout.

hope this helps

I purchased a Uniden model D1688 and I don't know how to put favorites into the phonebook.

Entries can be added from the base or the handset. The CID button is on the right of the control ring; the phonebook is on the left of that ring.

If you want to add a number from the Caller ID list to the phone book, press CID and use the up/down arrows to navigate to the call that you want to add. Then press Menu/Select. Select the line Store into Pb and press Menu/Select. You will be at the Edit Name Screen for the phonebook.

To enter a new item from scratch, press the Phonebook button. Then press Menu/Select and select the Create New submenu. Press Menu/Select and enter the name of the contact using the alphabet on the key pad. (For C, press 2 three times.) Press Menu/Select and enter the phone number as it is dialed (including a 1 if needed). If you need to add a pause in the number, press Redial/Pause. However, the entire number must be less than 20 digits (including the pause). Press Menu/Select again. If you enter the number from the handset, you will be prompted to select a ringtone to always use when you get a call from that number. Press Menu/Select again. Then press End (on the handset) or Play/Stop (on the base) to exit the menu system.

Uniden has the manuals available at their site, either from the product page or the support page. All DECT phone manuals are here: http://www.uniden.com/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=uniden&scat=dectphones_mnl . The manuals are listed in numerical and alphabetical order. The direct link to the D1688 manual in English is http://www.uniden.com/content/ebiz/uniden/resources/ownersmanuals/D1688-2om.pdf .

I hope this helps.

hello. To turn the ringer off on that phone you need to get into the menu. The way you get into the menu is press and hold the menu/cid button for 2 seconds. Then press the arrow down button until you highlight the ringer volume. once the ringer volume is highlighted, press the select/channel button. that will rotate you through the 3 available volume levels. High, low and off. as you are pressing the select/channel button the handset sounds a sample of the volume level. when you hear the volume level you want simply press end and that will store your volume to the off position. to turn it back on, just repeat the above steps but select the proper volume level you want and then hit end. I hope this helps.. Don;t forget to rate me. thanks !

Just bought CD445 cordless phone with answer phone. The event light on the handset is flashing all the time. Is this normal. What do I have to do to stop it. Many thanks

The message indicator is the phone alerting you that you have missed calls. Press the CID button (the up arrow) then menu. You are now in the call list. Scroll through it (using up & down arrows) making sure to view all calls with the word NEW next to them. Alternatively, you can press menu while in the call list and then choose delete all this will erase the entire list.

The light also blinks to indicate voice mail. Many phone providers offer this service for free and you should contact them to ask if you have it / how to check it.
