There is no other way to reset your password except to reset the router by useing a pen and reset the router, there is a little button on the back of the router it should say reset. this will reset the router to it factory setings . then you will have to go in and set it the way you had it . sometimes they put the password on the bottom of the router most routers have the password admin.

thank you
hope this helps tazman

I forgot my username and password on my dlink G604T wireless router

Check DLink manual and/or WEB site, there is usually a method of resetting the router back to the factory default. You can then change the password and configure the router again.
It pays to keep a record of passwords in a safe place.

Have wireless network at home trying to add my sons laptop to network but have forgot security key/passphrase which laptop is asking for

All you need to do is log into the router usually with the pc that is attached to the router (wired) by typing into the run command box http://192.168.1.1 Depending on the brand of router you'll either put in admin and no password or admin for the password or admin and password for password. Once in the router go to the wireless security tab and you can see the network key. Hope this helps

I want to connect another laptop on my dwl2100ap wireless adaptor but when I plug in the network cable it tells me that there is no or limited connection, I cannot get back into the dlink setup page so...

Inorder to get into your D-Link Setup page, you must open a browser window and type:
192.168.0.1     This is the IP Address for most D-Link routers....If the setup page was password protected then you must enter the password to get into the setup, if you forgot your password you should be able to reset the router by using a pin and sticking it in the pinhole located on the back of the router..                                                                                                            Joe < Data Miner >

Forgot password of wep of the linksys router

on a computer wired to your router.

1. Open an internet explorer browser.
2. Click on the address bar and type in 192.168.1.1
3. It should ask you for a password. Leave the username empty under password type in admin
4. If that does not work try a password that you would normally use as you might have changed it.
5. Inside the page. Go to the wireless tab. Under the word wireless you will see basic wireless to the right is wireless security. Click on wireless security.
6. Under wireless security you can see your WEP key.

I hope this has answered your question sufficiently. If you have more questions please post a reply and i would be happy to assist. Thanks.

We just got wireless internet this past year at our house and when my dad set it up he forgot to write down the password which lets you onto the internet. So now we are able to log on through the computer...

to set the wireless settings you need to use a computer that is connected to your router or the computer that is working on your router wirelessly.

access the setup page of your router using IE on the address bar type the ip of your router, by default it is 192.168.1.1, username=admin and password=password, once your on the setuppage go to wireless settings option on the left pane. you will be able to see the wireless security there.

the reason why you dont know the wireless security for the old computers its because once you typed the security key in the computer will remembers it and save it on the system.

I need to install a Linksys Wireless router to my pc.

Could we have the model number of the router please?

On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."

Do I have to lock my D-link router connected via Ethernet cable? If so, how do I find the router on my PC?

Ya you should lock it with password .. bcoz.. if you will not lock it other might access it and it may harm you in some way.. they might access your internet resources , or data .. or anything they can do with your network settings with that router...

Connect to your router with your browser. then you will find a wireless security tab over there... click on that tab and you will find that the security features are disabled.

You should have several options when it comes to the type of security that you can choose. I prefer WPA, it allows you to simply enter a password to access your wireless network. This password can of course be saved in your wireless settings so there is no need to enter it but one time.

Simply enter your password in the password box and hit save. Your wireless network is now secure. Distribute the password to anyone that is allowed access to your wireless network.

My laptop is already wireless so I know I don't need the flash drive or the software that goes with it. Laptop already connects to internet with cord- no probs. Router is ZyXEL Prestige 660HW- T1....

there is a problem with the security feature of your wireless router (SSID - Service Set Identifier). the most effective solution for this is reseting the router but pressing the small hidden button at the bottom part of the w-router itself. it will automatically reset your router.

the reason why you always connect to a different router is because your router rejects your attempt to connect to it and you computer automatically searched for another router in the area and connect itself to it.

Cause of the issue:

* you forgot the password or (SSID - Service Set Identifier)
* someone put a password on your router without you knowing it
* you accidentally inputted a password or (SSID - Service Set Identifier)

Hope this one works! Because i am sure with it!

Your good rating will be much appreciated, thanks!
