Viewsonic LCD TV n3251w problem

Same problem as the others, no sound no picture...did anyone get a new tv from viewsonic?

    Have no sound, no pix, No standby LED, Fuse is good - suspect main signal pcb - trying to obtain

    Common problem with this set are the filter capaciotrs in the power supply. Usually 2 1000uf and 2 1500uf capacitors.

If the TV will not turn on and you do not have a "red" power indicator light you will need to replace or fix the power module. This is easy to replace, approx 125 USD, but also can be fixed. I fixed mine for about 1.97 USD with parts from Radio Shack.

I had the same problem , and at first they would not honor the warranty . i phoned back and mention the problem with this model and the waranty was honored , i was sent a refurbished model because my tv took longer then 21 days to fix . the main component board is the problem . good luck .

No, most of them you will have to program it to work with other model of Viewsonic TV.
You have to go to WWW.VIEWSONIC.COM to the get the info for your model of the remote you have.

The TV won't turn on anymore. It gets power but the button isn't lighting up and no picture or sound. It is difficult to change out the power button board?
First check the voltages on the power supply. That is the most common problem with ViewSonic in this case. If all the voltages are there and capacitor and diodes all look good, then it would be the main board.

Common failure in this N3250/32521 is bad power supply.

N3251w LCD TV turns on, but only a blank screen. The only button that works on both the TV and the remote is the power button. Otherwise, nothing, no menus, just a blank screen.

I have a n3251 viewsonic and only the sound is working,
With the tv on some channel (and sound working), take a strong flashlight or other light and bring it up to the screen. Do you see a faint picture? Sounds like the backlight has failed. Could be the power supply for it or the inverter board or one of the lamps. Are you qualified to open the unit and look around? Do you have a voltmeter?

I have a Viewsonic flat-screen tv, it displays "menu locked" ??
Try holding the VOL + and VOL - buttons on the TV (not on the remote) down together. You should see a "unlocking buttons" message on screen. This might work. However, I tried it repeatedly, as told to by the Viewsonic "service" rep, and it didn't work for me. Viewsonic is ****, and so is its "service"!
