The printer starts to print several pages of a document and then stops. The orange light flashes stating that there is a paper jam, but there is not a paper jam! What should I be looking for?

Never mind, I figured it out.  I took off the side panels and the back (a few screws).  There was a small piece of paper lodged in the back.  I removed it with a pair of tweezers.  The printer works fine now.

SOURCE: printer not printing

If this printer has the duplexor feature there is a plate just above the paper tray and the paper may be stuck in there. Pull out the paper tray and look for a sorta blue button on the top right side inside of the printer. Push that button and the duplexor tray will drop down and that is where the paper may be hiding.

SOURCE: Printer prints all pages on one sheet of paper

what application are you printing from? also, can you do a print preview to see if there are more than one page? if that works, then your printer mechanism is not following the driver information from the print queue manager.

SOURCE: Flashing triangular light with the exclamation mark inside it.

Clear the printer queue on the computer (double-click the printer icon in the tray or in the Printers and Faxes folder and cancel all documents listed). Then power off the printer and disconnect the power - remove the paper from the paper tray until you have the printer memory cleared as to not waste paper.

SOURCE: lights flashing, printer won't print as a result of a paper jam

Hi Girlemom. Just had the same problem here. Lift up the lid and slide the ink cartridges to the left. If they are stuck in the middle, this will prevent the printer from starting properly. Then, unplug it, plug back in, and turn on. It should restart normally.

The paper light is flashing. The tray has paper, there is no paper jam. I check everything, put tray back in, press go and after a few seconds, there is a click noise and it starts flashing. What do I do?

The light flashing may mean more things, not just a paper jam. Could mean any of the following:
- Front cover is open: Close the front cover of the printer.
- Back cover is open: Close the back cover of the printer.
- Paper jam: Clear the paper jam. To see paper jams and how to clear them, click here. If the printer does not start printing, press the Go button.
- No paper fed manual feed slot: Put the paper back in the manual feed slot.
- Memory full: The printer memory is full and the printer cannot print full pages of a document. To solve this problem, click here.
- Print overrun: A print overrun occurred and the printer cannot print full pages of a document. To solve this problem, go here.
- Drum Error: The corona wire needs to be cleaned. To see how to clean the corona wire, click here.

Paper jam light is on

Hi! I have the same issue. The only solution I still use: select print from document with no paper in the hp's feeder. Let the printer go on "paper out" message, now put the paper into the feeder and press the print button on the printer. Success!

Printer ripair

The BJC 3000 will flash two different colored lights in a pattern to signal several different errors. From the documentation I have the two colors are orange and green, could those be the colors you see? At any rate here is the code: Two orange flashes: Out of paper, paper jam, or paper feed error. If no paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder, or if the paper is not loaded correctly, set the paper correctly and press the Resume button on the printer to continue printing. Three orange flashes: Paper jam. If paper has jammed in the printer, carefully remove the jam and press the Resume button to continue printing. Four orange flashes: A tank inside the BJ cartridge (print head) is out of ink. Replace the empty BJ tank and press the Resume button to continue printing. Five orange flashes: BJ cartridge is not installed properly. Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely. Six orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is not installed. Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely. Seven orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is defective. Remove the BJ cartridge and check that the contacts on the cartridge and cartridge holder are clean. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed and reinstall the cartridge. If the error occurs again after you resume operation, you may need to replace the BJ cartridge. Eight orange flashes: Waste ink absorber almost full. The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink that is consumed during print head cleaning. This error indicates that the waste ink absorber is nearly full. Press the Resume button to skip the error so you can continue printing. The POWER light flashes orange and green alternately: Service error. A service error means the printer requires the attention of a qualified technician. If you have any more questions let us know otherwise please don't forget to rate this post.

Flashing resume light also can mean:

1. cartridge is missing or an incorrect print cartridge is installed
2. cartridge is out of ink
3. dirty cartridge contacts
4. paper jammed

Check are cartridges firmly snapped into place and not empty. Use water to wash copper on cartridges if contacts are dirty.
