Have you check your memory to see how much you have left?

    Three things I will do.

1 I will increase my memory size

2 if it does not work, I will replaced my DVD burner.

your memory should be at back of your laptop.

these two items are not hard to replace.

Do you know how to check your memory size?

    start,

    program

    accessories

    system tools

    system information

at information, check Total physical memory and

    available physical memory.

more music and photo can eat up your pc memory.

Helo sir, my dvd drive suddenly disappear from my computer which is a windows vista laptop

Please go to Control Panel->System->HW->Device Manager and click on Actions->Scan for new HW. It should be able to locate the DVD drive and load its drivers. Once drivers are loaded then the drive will be functional. Generally the drives are press fitted, ie, you can pull them out of the laptop casing. Then press fit again after cleaning the connectors. And then see if the drive is detected.

Dvd/cd-rw drive doesnt appear in my computer

I had the same problem after running the software "SuperISO", this software reset my DVD drive and make it becomes a hard drive instead. Google SuperISO you find more info about it.

Anyway, I have to reinstall window vista, and after boot up, device manager does not know the DVD drive or displays it at all.

Accidentally I resolved this issue a few days latter. One day when the computer is off, I plug in a new device "Optical mouse", and boot up my computer. The program automatic detect a new hardware run and install a necessary driver for a new hardware, after that, it also detect my DVD drive and install the driver for it.

After the computer boot up, I got my DVD drive back and it working fine like before, does not cost me a dime.

In your case, try to plug in any new device and boot up your pc. Good Luck
