Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do I backup itunes file on external harddrive

It's a good idea to regularly back up all important files on your computer to an external source to prevent data loss. Your iTunes music, videos and other digital downloads are stored in separate files within the iTunes folder. However, if you consolidate them into a single folder, it's easier to back them up to an external hard drive.

Launch iTunes. Go to the program's Preferences menu. Click the "Advanced" tab. Check the box next to "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" and click "OK." Click "File." Select "Library" and then "Organize Library." Check the box next to "Consolidate Files" and click "OK." Close iTunes. Connect your external hard drive to your computer. Find the iTunes media folder on your computer's hard drive. Drag the folder to the icon for your external drive to copy your iTunes media.

How to download music from my computer to ipod

Assuming you have iTunes installed....

Connect iPod, when iTunes opens, you can go to File ---> Add File to Library (or press Ctrl+O), find the music file on your harddrive, highlight, and click ok. You can then manage the id3 tags (Genre, Artist, etc) by right-clicking on the song, and selecting "Get Info"

Hope this helps!

I need a new 20gb hard drive

u need a new 20gb...is ur ipod full with song? not working correctly? my suggestion is this (if you are willing) plug the ipod to pc....itunes will pop up...(make sure all video, photos and music is saved in itunes by syncing it).now x out of itunes...go to my computer open the ipod drive and copy software and hidden software to your pc (do not rename any part of this)....software is copied, format the ipod drive (yes you wish to erase it)...format is complete...now copy the software back on to ipod from pc.......go to start or click on itunes icon to open itunes....if ipod not found in 30-45 seconds disconnect the ipod for 10 sec and plug it back to pc..add your photos/video/music back to ipod...its working like brand new

now here is the site for replacement harddrives http://www.mymacstore.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=20+gb&x=8&y=13

Can't open itunes

You need to reinstall Itunes and point it towards the correct drive/folder again. When you attached the second hard drive it would have fouled the pointers in iTunes.

Playlists & thousand songs dissappeared from itunes

if you synch it yes it will wipe it out - you can get software to back your ipod back to your computer so I would personally delete all the play lists and re do it. your music will be in my documents --> music --> itunes so you can re add it that way and re sort the playlists.

If its on mac os then it will be under your music folder ( macintosh hd --> users --> your username --> music --> iTunes

It may be that your itunes library file may have gotten corrupted so once you have gotten it sorted out close down itunes and go back into your music folder and itunes folder and make a backup copy of your itunes library files.

Assuming your not moving your music files around in side of the music or itunes folder it should be fine.

Ipod music is gone, but still says it has stuff on it

If you do this through itunes, it should be okay. The trouble is everytime you want to update your ipod, you will need to connect it with itunes and itunes will need to have your existing library that you created for you ipod to perform a quick and troublefree update.

If you are going to get an external harddrive you will need to re-direct where itunes is saving your music and video files. Because itunes will be using your internal harddrive for the system files (that is where windows is), it will automatically save the music to your internal drive. I suggest reloding an updated version of itunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ here and when asked where to install it, redirect it from C:programfiles.......to your external harddrive. This way the itunes music folder will be on your external harddrive.

Hope this helps
