Jamo A 10 CEN centre speaker speaker jarring

Hello

I have recently (7 months) ago, purchased a Jamo DMR61 with Jamo A102 speaker set + A10 Centre speaker + SUB 200.

My centre speaker is making a jarring noise, sounds something like a loose piece of plastic vibrating. I have interchanged the surround speaker with centre to test and it works fine. This makes me believe that the problem is only with the A10Cen. Since the problem lies with the centre speaker only, here are its specs before I request assistance.

  • System: 2 way
  • Woofer: 76 mm
  • Tweeter: 19mm
  • Sensitivity:86
  • Power handling long/short term (W) : 60/80
  • Frequency range: 150-20.000
  • Ohm:6
I have 2 queries, which I am hoping you could help:
  1. I understand that this unit comes with a 7 yr warranty. Is this problem covered under replaceable warranty?
  2. If I was to buy out a new centre speaker which model would you recommend? I don't mind upgrading if the difference in quality is really there.
Warm Regards
Amit

Centre speaker does not work following setting up system again after moving house.

Many systems have an option to switch off the centre speaker. You should investigate this.
What sometimes happens when the power is fully switched off for some time on these sort of systems, is that the memory chip that remembers system settings loses it's memory. Sometimes it has a small capacitor that stores a small voltage that keeps the memory chip alive during power outages. However over time these stop storing the small voltage needed. And need to be replaced. Normally they don't affect the system until you switch off the power. As many uses leave them in standby mode. It is often worse on radio station settings, with units that have tunners, losing all station settings.
If this applies to you, have a look around for one of these capacitors, called Memory Retention Capacitors, and replace it. Image below as to what they look like. They are always about 5.5 volts.

Adjust treble

is it too much treble and you want to attenuate?
if thats the case i have a simple suggestion. wire used for doorbells has no place between an amplifier and a speakers. you could try obeying for a set of modus cube speakers. they're great and cheap. between 10 and 25 GBP a pair. you may even be able to find the centre speaker. if not just get 6 speakers or 3 pairs. use 5 of the 6 and keep a spare. wharfdale modus cube main speakers
or Wharfedale Modus Cube Main Stereo Speakers
theres 2 sets easy to find.

Philips lx3000d surround sound system. centre

cross check the audio device settings. check the audio level of each channels.
Also try exchanging the speakers whether the speaker itself is damaged.

Hope this helped.

Samsung AV-R720 - front right speaker crackles

THIS RECEIVER IS JUNK. I had the same problem with my receiver and Samsung gave me a new unit as it was under warranty. 8 months later the replacement which was brand new did the same thing. Samsung tells me it is my problem now. I should have demanded another unit. the best advice I have is not to buy this product. Samsung won't help you when it breaks and it will break. Nobody seems to know how to fix it.......

Where do i purchase remote control for jamo home surround ?

Hey I have a DVR50 which appears to have given up the ghost. Its probably beyond economical repair but I'm gonna try the service centre later today. If you have any trouble getting a new remote I'll gladly send you mine if I have to scrap the DVR50. I'd rather someone get something out of it. Just pay the postage and thats fine. j.bailey@harionab.karoo.co.uk

Surround speakers don't work

Check which Channel you are using on the Remote. i.e. 2.1 Multichannel or Auto the Centre Speaker and the 2 rear speakers don't work if its 2.1 channel setting

The center speaker shouldn't be on the surround outputs it should be on the Center output. The surround outputs are for the rear speakers.
