Olympus FE310 eats batteries - only 6 photos from fully charged NIMH batteries

When I go on a photo shoot with my camera club I would take at least 30-40 pics. At the rate the FE310 uses batteries I would spend most of my time changing them.

Yes, my FE310 shows "battery exhausted" after 36 hours with no use at all.

Hello everyone I phoned olympus on 08001114888 and they said to go into Settings then 'battery type' and chose either alkaline (normal) or NiMH for rechargeable - problem solved!! Not in instructions!!! Previously could only take about 6 photos without 'battery empty' message or the lens going in and out as above. This SHOULD sort out your problems so you can keep the camara :)

My Olympus Camedia D-540 Zoom sometimes battery registered as full and I go to take photo then message battery empty. Can anything be done?

Try using "fully charged" NiMH batteries. If you still experiencing "low battery", you may have a "leak". Your next option is the service center.

Olympus FE310 Series, Battery Problem

Hi, I have had the same problem with the battery not working.  I have changed batteries several times, with no change.  I bought the camera when I was pregnant so I could have a camera in my bag to take spontaneous photos of my baby but was disappointed at the birth and ever since because the battery is not dependable! I took it into the shop and was informed there could be a $90 charge if there is no mechanical problems... :-((

Battery life expectancy

The battery life of AA alkaline batteries varies according to the manufacturer and power rating. Alkaline batteries can provide up to 100 shots with typical usage. Olympus NiMH batteries (B-01 4PE) provide approximately 250 shots per charge and can be recharged 300 to 500 times. Olympus recommends the use of CR-3V batteries or NiMH batteries. Olympus sells an NiMH Battery set which includes a charger and set of 4-NiMH batteries. You can purchase this through Olympus dealers or through the Olympus Emporium (www.olympusamerica.com/store).
