Question about HP LaserJet 4600dn Color Printer

HP color laser 4600dn FAN noise

Just purchased a second hand HP 4600DN color laser. I’m extremely happy with every aspect of the printer apart from the fan noise. The printer is in a well ventilated area in a cool office. The fans run constantly in power save and normal modes. Is this normal? All our other HP laser printers are whisper quiet. The fan isn’t labouring or grinding, its working fine – it’s just working ALL the time.

Yes this is normal. Everytime someone prints, the printer exits power saving mode and the fan will stay on. If you leave it on and don't print to it overnight, the fan would shut off in the mornig. But you probably turn the printer off everynight and are printing all day, so you don't really have to expectthe fan to power down unless its not being used for an long period of time idleing.

My hp color laserjet 4600dn keeps jamming, even with a single sheet being feed into it.

The feed rollers might have some paper or parts of a label stuck to it. You might be able to get it out without disassembling it, but sometimes you have to take them apart to get to the problem. Look carefully in it, try to spot any paper or item that might be causing one of the feed rollers to bind the paper up.

My hp laserjet 4600dn is showing an error message 51.2k

I finally got the courage to keep going, and got the laser/scanner out. I swapped it with the Magenta laser, and sure enough, the same error came up with M instead of K. So, I got ready to order a reman'ed laser/scanner, and was just about to click "checkout," when I figured I'd tinker with the bad scanner. I took it apart (I know, no user serviceable parts), and spun the laser by hand. There was the screeching noise! So, I removed the motor board by removing the 4 screws and the cable, then took some light oil, and a toothpick. I dropped the slightest bit of oil on the spindle on the top, and on the inside where it spun on the spindle, and spun the laser around by hand a few times... Then I inverted the assembly, and spun it around some more. Then I reassemble the laser/scanner module, cable, and then cover. I put the l/s back in, and with everything off, turned the printer on, forcing it to go through a cold reset. And sure enough, I've got my printer back!

Respected Sir We are having HP Laser Jet Printer 4600dn it is shwoing error 82.0180 E10 2 Error? What i have to do now

You have a failed JetDirect network card (look on back where the network cable plugs in) usually a grey or white slot card with 2 thumb screws (ex: 610n). If this is add-in card, you can buy a replacement and reinstall it. If the network port is built onto the printers fomatter (main board), then you need an authorized HP repair center to replace and set the serial number through service mode.

Our older 4600dn when a laser label is used sometimes does not fix the color for very dark or high contrast colors changes. Also following print on any paper laser or reg get a blotch of this dark color...

Sounds like you have a fuser issue. Also, there is a wire inside the unit that creates a magnetic charge on the pager that attracts the toner. If the paper is too thick, this wire is failing, or the fuser unit itself is going bad then the toner cannot be "attracted" to the paper because the magnetic charge is either too weak or altogether absent.

You could probably get the unit serviced, but the price of network printers with duplexing are quite low and may be less expensive than getting this one repaired.

Lines down the paper HP 4600DN

This means that the problem is with the toner drum. Just try to clean the drum of the toner with cotton. It is green colored rod in the toner. then try to take the print. If still you get the line while printing please either replace the toner or get the drum replaced from a local vendor

I have an HP 4600dn that is having trouble printing color.

there is a setting in the menu to adjust
go to Configuration
adjust color

you have to determine which way to adjust it on a X and Y axis

try changing the number X to a high # to see which way it moves then adjust from there.
