Hi When I start my computer monitor starts fine but will go black (as if in sleep mode but will not restart but computer is still running) green light goes to orange. Works if I connect another monitor to my computer at same time but is very annoying. Monitor is 11 months old. Had this problem when first received it and returned it to store and they replaced the monitor and it is now happening to this one. Any solutions?

Possible reason is that input signal goes out of range that probably a Screen refresh rate that the monitor cannot handle. Instead of bursting into flames, the monitor shuts itself down as a protection feature. Look at the monitor manual if you got one.
Safe Mode should allow the monitor to work in the problem account.
Boot in Safe Mode (see below) Switch users to the problem account Right click the desktop Select Properties Click the Settings tab Click the Advanced button Click the Monitor tab Select: Hide modes that this monitor cannot display Select a different Screen refresh rate Click Apply twice and then Click OK
Or try this:- power on the system and press and hold F5. When a screen appers with some option, try to find a option something realted with VGA setting. Click that option and let pc start normally. It will surely work
TRY UNPLUGGING COMPUTER AND MONITOR AND DISCONNECTING MONITOR FROM THE BACK OF THE COMPUTER. BE SURE TO UNPLUG AND NOT TURN OFF. WAIT ONE MINUTE THEN PLUG COMPUTER BACK IN . RECONNECT MONITOR TO THE BACK OF THE COMPUTER AND PLUG IN. IF THIS WORKS, WAIT FOR NEW HARDWARE RECOGNIZED TO COME ON. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, IF ANY. RESTART COMPUTER.
I had a similar problem whereas my monitor went to sleep mode after a few minutes. I'm running an HP LP 2065 in dual mode with another HP flat screen. However, I did resolve the issue after resetting the output settings.
How to do that:
right mouse click on the desktop
select graphic options
Maybe some changings/modification will help you too.
I have called HP Technical Support 6 times about this issue and have logged at least 14 hours into the issue. The things they have done are turn all sleep settings in the "Power Options" in the control panel to "never". The problem persisted. Today, they sent my problem to the complaints department, so maybe they will have the authority to do something for my 5 week old setup.
For me, the monitor was in the "other devices" part on the device manager (go to start menu and type device, and the device manager will show up). I went to HP's website to the support and drivers spot and found a patch for the My Display program. This will allow you to uninstall your monitor, just right click the monitor under "other devices" and click uninstall. After you uninstall, restart and your computer will recognize the and put it under "monitors" in the device manager with the updated drivers. After I did this, the monitor hasn't gone to sleep.
When your computer is starting up, hit F8 and you'll see the safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc. screen...You should see a choice that says "enable vga mode". Select that and windows will start and the os will select a screen resolution for you. After that, everything will work fine...I hope.
