Bosch dishwasher regularly floods

I have a bosch dishwasher approx 2 years old (says something like electronic management) Regularly - without any obvious signs of a blocked filter- carries on taking on water until it flows out of the door and floods the kitchen. We empty it out and pour boiling water down the drain and it will work again straight away but after another few days it will do the same. The washing machine uses the same pipes so I don't think the pipes are to blame - but they may need to be cleaned . Should I call a plumber or just replace the dishwasher?

Dishwasher pellet does not fall to the bottom of my bosch dishwasher. Gets stuck in pull out handle

I do not know this specific machine, but I have to say that if the pellet hits something regularly instead of falling freely into the machine, then the design of the machine may simply not be good for pellets. Use powder. That also allows you to use more or less when required.

Hi from retired Englishman in France @ 13:25 Thur!

I had EXACTLY the same problem with our Bosch filter- stuck in solidly.
We suffer from very hard water here in the countryside of SW France and the filter was caked with calcium.

What I did was to squirt anticalc liquid around it and managed eventually to turn the cover but the filter remained inside. With our Bosch the filter attaches to the cover simply by a rubber ring in the cover and the end of the filter sits over this ring. I then did the same -anticalc- into the filter and gradually kept gently turning it until it came free.
Now if you are still unable to turn the cover (you filter may or maynot be 'attached' to the cover) there are 2 possible sollutions;

1) try putting a sachet of propriatory washer cleaner/decalc powder into the drum direct then add a kettle-full of HOT water into the drum. Close it and leave it overnight. In the morning run a quick spin. Certainly this will have removed calc from the heating element- making it more efficient- and it MIGHT aid the removal of the filter. I actually put 2 sachets of powder in ours and took nearly an hour to finally remove the filter- with added anticalc fluid.
You may have to do this more than once.

2) As a last resort you may have to force the cover off with or without the filter. Apart from the obvious damage to the cover the filter/cover seating could also be damaged.

The main point is that it is necessary to clean the filter regularly, 'regularly' depends on how badly blocked it becomes with calc and other material- which reminds me........!!!

Best of luck,

John C

My Bosch dishwasher is only 2 yrs old and for the following two nights does not want to pump out the water. If I drain it, it sometimes starts the cycle and sometimes not?

If no warning lights show up, then it is a matter of finding if the outlet is blocked somewhere. I am assuming the fact you can drain it manually means the pump is ok. Perhaps some sensor which is covered in muck.

I would start by cleaning the filters at the base and then running the unit with a dishwasher cleaning kit (without dishes in it). Finish cleaning kit is quite good and the instructions are on the pack.

By the way these units normally have a 2 to 3 year warranty on some parts. I am assuming you have the proof of purchase so that you can call the Bosch support guys.

Dishwasher never cleans, glasses gritty dirty -- Bosch terrible s

you obviously need to check and make sure that you've cleaned your filter system. it needs to be cleaned every couple of months. and also make sure that your washing fans, the ones that spray water, aren't clogged. they need to be washed out and de-clogged regularly as well... i had this same problem.. but it worked fine once i cleaned the system.
