How do I get rid of black marks are appearing on my printing with my Lexmark C544

Are the black marks in the same place on every print. If so, then it could be that the paper feed rollers have got black ink on them, this will need to be checked and if this is the case then it's a simple case of just cleaning them, some kitchen roll and mild soapy water and drying.

Then test the print quality.

Has then been happening since you last changed the black print cartridge. If so it could be a badly fitted cartridge or damaged cartridge. To check to see if the cartridge is fitted badly, take the cartridge out and try re-fitting it carefully, whilst you have it out of the printer you should check to see if there is any ink leakage from the cartridge, is there is then it's time to get a replacement.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Problem with my PC cant get mky printer to printer more than blank pages. Just bought new ink cartridges

Before fitting new cartridges and before removing them from their packaging give them a good shake.

If you think you have blocked nozzles stand the old cartridge in warm water.

How to change ink in HP Deskjet F480 printer???

  • Check the ink levels by opening the HP Solution Center. Click on "Settings." Click on "Toolbox." Click on "Services." Click on "Service this device." Click on "Estimated Ink Levels." A graphic will appear showing the estimated ink level in each cartridge.
  • 2 Verify that the unit is on. Open the print cartridge door allowing the print carriage to move to the far right side of the unit. Once the print carriage has stopped, lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. Pull the print cartridge toward you out of its slot. To replace the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left. To replace the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right. Place the cartridge in a plastic bag as it may still contain some residual ink and may leak.
  • 3 Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging. Remove the plastic tape by using the pull tab, being careful to not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles under tape.
  • 4 Slide the new print cartridge forward into the empty slot. Gently push the upper part of the print cartridge until it clicks into place. The tri-color print cartridge fits into the left slot. The black or photo print cartridge fits into the right slot.
  • 5 Close the print cartridge door. If the print cartridge alignment sheet prints, load it on the left front corner of the scanner glass with the top of the page to the left. Verify that there is plain paper loaded in the input tray, and then press the "Scan" button to align the printer.

    The print cartidge is missing

Please note the printer make and model and visit any computer shop - disclose the model name there they will give you the perfect cartridge. If you know how to fit the cartridge then well but if you don't then unpack the cartridges and please remove the plastic tape from the cartridge head or it will not work, open printer cover up - notice the empty cartridge holder in the printer, there you notice black and color cartridge holder. Look to the cartridge and holder you will understand the position of the cartridge to fit, now push the lower portion of any cartridge to the holder and give a very low pressure on the top (backward pressure to fit the in the holder). Same way you fit the next cartridge. Close the printer cover down. Print any document - it will definitely print.

    Print cartridge wont fit

More than likely the cartridge is faulty. Is the "new" cartridge a genuine "hp" or is it a compatible, or a "refilled" cartridge. Sometimes one or both of the end-caps are not refitted completely, causing it to be too wide for the chamber. This can also happen with an original, but more often with copy-cat compatibles or refilled "hp" shells.

    Print cartridge
When the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect/communicate with print cartridge.
Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.
    1. Open the top cover of the printer.
    2. Remove the print cartridges.
    3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.
    5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
    6. Close the top cover.
    7. Try printing again.
If you still cant communicate try with new cartridge .

Can I print "Black only on the Epson BX 300 F ?

Since the printer insists on having all 4 cartridges (non-empty) fitted before it will print anything, the only recourse to fitting new cartridges is to fool the printer into thinking your empty magenta cartridge has ink in it. You can do this by using a cartridge resetting tool to reset the magenta cartridge chip so it reads "full". A resetter tool can be obtained from e-bay very cheaply (£4 or less). You will find sellers who ship worldwide on E-Bay UK.

Be aware though, that if you forget to select monochrome printing, the colour ink is also used in black printing - and printing with a "dry" cartridge can damage the print head. You can guard against this by filling your magenta cartridge with distilled water.

You will also find sellers of magenta cartridges (and the others of course) on E-Bay UK who ship worldwide.
