You may have to re-establish connections with your computer or a computer on the same network. If that doesn't work rewrite the pin number and just reconnect to Microsoft Media Connection all over again with you computer.

Trying to stream media from pc to xbox 360 but my pc won't connect at the "select source" screen on my xbox 360. I have forwarded all the proper ports...I think.

That is a peculiar device for doing that. It doesn't like some types of files and with video it's got to be VERY delicately encoded or it won't work. You need to have your PC up and running, when you load your xbox (at least with Vista and Windows 7) it should pop up by your clock a bubble saying "Media Extender available" click that and you should get some instructions.

Tip

Setup your Xbox to a Wireless Network

Xbox game consoles can be connected to a router for wireless access to the Internet and Xbox Live. Follow these instructions to set up the Xbox or Xbox 360 connections to a wireless home network.

Connect the appropriate wireless network adapter to the console. On the Xbox, a Wi-Fi adapter that connects to the Ethernet sometimes also called a wireless network bridge must be used. Alternatively, the Xbox 360 is also designed to work with certain Wi-Fi game adapters that connect to a USB port.

Turn on the console and navigate to the wireless settings screen. On the Xbox, the menu path is "Settings -> Network Settings -> Advanced -> Wireless -> Settings" On the Xbox 360, the menu path is "System -> Network Settings -> Edit Settings."

Set the SSID (network name) on the Xbox to match that of the wireless router. If your wireless router has enabled SSID broadcast, the SSID name should appear pre-selected on the Xbox display. Otherwise, select the "Specify Unlisted Network" option and enter the SSID there.

Specify "Infrastructure" as the Network Mode. (Infrastructure is the mode used by wireless routers.)

Set the Security Type to match that of the wireless router. If your router uses WPA encryption and the type of adapter connected to the Xbox does not support WPA, you will need to change your router settings to use WEP encryption instead. Note that the standard MS Xbox Adapter supports WPA while the standard Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter (MN-740) only supports WEP.

Save your settings and verify the network is functional.

On the Xbox, the Wireless Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made with the wireless router, and the Connect Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made through the Internet to Xbox Live.

On the Xbox 360, use the "Test Xbox Live Connection" option instead.

Tips:

Even when your wireless connection between the Xbox and the router is working perfectly, you may still experience difficulty connecting to Xbox Live. These issues can be caused by the quality of your Internet connection or the firewall and Network Address Translation (NAT) settings of your wireless router. Additional troubleshooting may be required in these areas to achieve reliable Xbox Live connections.

Troubleshooting

The built-in diagnostic of the Xbox can help with any falure.Navigate to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard, select the Network Settings menu option, then select Test Xbox Live Connection to run the test at any time. If the Xbox 360 built-in network diagnostic fails with the following message:

Technical configuration error. Please contact Xbox Customer Support.
This indicates a network issue requiring further investigation. The Xbox 360 network diagnostic contains the following tests run in the order listed below. Steps for troubleshooting Xbox 360 connectivity issues depend on which test reports the failure.
If you have an original Xbox 360 console, you need to attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter before you can connect your console to a wireless network.
Note You can use an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter with the Xbox 360 S console. If your wireless router is not near your console, you may get a better wireless signal by using a wireless networking adapter. When you connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to an Xbox 360 S console, the console will automatically use the wireless adapter instead of the built-in Wi-Fi.
If you have an original Xbox 360 console, you need to attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter before you can connect your console to a wireless network.

Step 1: Attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to the back of your Xbox 360 console.
Step 2: If a network cable is plugged into the back of your console, unplug it. Step 3: Check the light on the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter.
If you're using the black adapter with two antennas:

No light: The adapter is not receiving power. Unplug the USB connector, and plug it in again. Still no light? Try plugging the adapter into a USB port on the front of the console.

Green: The adapter is connected to a wireless router, gateway, or access point.

Flashing green: The adapter is attempting to connect to a wireless network.

Red: The adapter is not recognized. Try plugging the adapter into a USB port on the front of your console.

Flashing red: There is a problem. The adapter might be experiencing a hardware failure.

Configure your wireless settings Go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
Select Network Settings.
Select Configure Network.

On the Basic Settings tab, select Wireless Mode.
Note If Wireless Mode is still not available, there might be a problem with your hardware.

Select Scan for Networks.

Select your wireless network name.

If your wireless network is not listed, try either of the following:

Try improve the router signal by moving the router position. If you are not broadcasting your wireless network name, select Specify Unlisted Network, and enter your wireless network name and security type.

Enter your wireless network password, and then select Done.

Press the B button on your controller, and then select Test Xbox LIVE Connection. If you successfully connect to Xbox LIVE, you'll see this screen:Choose Yes when you are prompted to update the console software.

My PC is not rebooting. It reads on the black screen in white letters "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key." What would I do next to...

The computer is trying to boot but it can't access the hard disc drive with the operating system on it to boot up. Make sure the hard disc drive is properly connect to the motherboard. If it is properly connected then it is possible your hdd has failed and needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled. Another thing you can try is determining the maker of your hard disc drive and download thier utility from their website to run on the hdd to try and repair it.

hope this helps

PC Selected - Failed

wmp11 streaming works upon universal plug and play on your router to direct streaming. I have had this problem too. Maybe people do. I found that upnp on my router was always the problem. Make sure it's enabled, and if you have not restarted your router do that. and after you enable upnp, its a good idea to restart it also. I'd give it a 75% chance its a universal pnp problem. Yet if your port forwarding, you might need to disable it, i dont know, i always just used upnp for simplicity. Finally, double check you have a static ip for your port forwards if you continue on that route.
