Good day, mxocmi;
There is a recall from the factory to correct this problem, lamp sensor.
Call an authorized service dealer and they will come to your home and repair this at no cost to you.
Good luck, big IRISH.

What does it mean when the status light for my mitsubishi wd-60735 tv is on but not blinking

TV has overheated. Unplug it. Let it cool down. Then get a vacuum and maybe some canned air and blow the dust out of the vents and vacuum it up. Make sure the TV has plenty of airflow.

Check airflow sensor turn tv off

Your TV needs the modified temp sensor installed by Mits authorized service center. It's covered under extended warranty for 3 years after date of purchase. Repair takes about 20 minutes and not too expensive if you're out of warranty period. Part #299P313010A

My TV keeps blowing the lamps. Gone through 2 in 3 weeks. I bought the TV in January 2008. Is it time to get a new one?

ok.. my first instinct for this problem is airflow... check to see if the filter is cloged or blocked...make sure the fan is blowing to cool it. if this all seems right then you might have what is called a faulty ballast. which may need replaced. or the fan might be jammeded.

Sony Wega 50

Usually this is a classic lamp problem, but it could also relate to a defective lamp ballast (power supply).

Now if you are replacing lamps frequently, it's likely the lamp isn't getting enough airflow to keep it cool. If you don't get the airflow issue solved it will take out the thermal safety fuse near the lamp and your set won't come on and the power light will blink red 6 times repeating itself until you unplug it. Some lamp fans are so deeply nested it takes a trained tech to get them out. Dusty environments are bad for TV's with fans in them, especially projection types.
