Assuming u have Vista or XP.

1) msconfig as in the video - disable non-ms services & startup,
2) uninstall unwanted apps from control panel->add/remove
3) run disk cleanup
4) defragment ur root drive
5) check if u have more that 1GB RAM on system.

by now u should be able to see a boost in system speed.

Slow running note pc

1. Run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and do a full scan. Do this even if you have different anti-virus programs.

2. Disable unneeded programs from startup. Here is a basic guide:
http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_win7.html

3. Run a third party disk defragmentation program like "Auslogics Disk Defrag" or Defraggler. Do a full, complete defrag.

4. Blow out all vents with canned air.

5. If it's still too slow after all that, backup your hard drive and re-install windows if you're comfortable doing so.

How do i rebot my laptop

Go to www.download.com Type ccleaner and install, also install malwarebytes anti-malware from the same location, and smart defrag. Run the cleaner first, next malwarebytes, [full scan] and finally smart defrag, this should speed up your computer.

How to speed up a very very very slow computer in XP?

First of all if you have Symantec Norton Antivirus Products or McAfee Antivirus Products remove them. They are core hogs and will slow your system down. Replace them with a simple and smooth FREE Antivirus such as AVG, AVAST or Microsoft Security Essentials. Secondly if you have anything on your system from AOL remove it. It too eats up resources. You might have a virus that is slowing you down also so after you install the FREE antivirus program run a scan. You'll be amazed at what the antivirus you pay for missed. Download and Install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan. After you've done all the above Open My Computer and Right Click on your C: Local drive and select Properties, then Tools, then Defrag Now. When the Disk Defragmenter opens click on Analyze and it will tell you when it finishes if you need to Defrag the hard drive. If you need to Defrag the drive click Defragment. This will take more than an hour to run so be patient.

Offline very slow, though I defrag weekly, A pop

Sounds like a virus. Try installing Microsoft Security Essentials and Malware Bytes. Run those a few times and see if that fixes the problem. If it is still slow, reinstall windows.

Computer takes longer to boot up, plus is running very slow

1. To increase PC boot speed:
There must be too many programs automatically start when you boot your PC. To manage them, click Run, type in "msconfig", select "Boot", then you can disable unnecessary programs from that list.

2. To increase PC running speed:
* Adding RAM is the most effective method, but if the RAM is already at the maximum, then do the following.
* Run disk cleanup and defragmenter. But to be honest, the built-in Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter run quite slow and they will take you quite a long time, so I never use them. Third-party programs are better.
* Run registry optimizer software and defrag. No Windows built-in tools to do this. Search on google or refer to this free registry cleaner review.
