Re: I can't find the self timer
Take a look at your manual. I checked the manual in this site http://www.samsungcamera.com/company/result/result02.asp
and on page 11 and 12 you will see something about where the self-timer is. Also check out page 28 of your manual. Here's the specific line at the bottom.
If you operate the Power button, Self-timer button and shutter button during the self-timer
operation, the self-timer function is cancelled.

On your menu navigation buttons, push the left arrow to get to the timer. Then push up or down to turn the timer on. Then push the middle button to exit. Now position the camera for the picture, and push the shutter button. You will have I think about 10 seconds to position the subject. It's a cool function, have fun with it!
go to the mode dial put it on Auto, or P, or M then push the funtion button this will bring up a screen that has the self timer selctions on bottom of display screen. click whcih timer you want and push the shutter down and it will take a few seconds and then take picture
ok , um to access you self timer all you have to do is push the down button on the directional pad and the screen should bring up self timer and you just have to select on for the function to be enabled.
the directional pad is the silver square button the camera beside the LCD display screen with the small "OK" button in the middle
Okay - I felt like an idiot but the instruction manual sucks for this!!!!!! Press the menu button and stay on the first screen - Drive mode will probably say single and have image information listed under it. Use the down button and highlight drive mode - press the right button and it will change to single and under that it will say self-timer. Now use the down button and highlist self - timer and press the enter button. Now you use the self-timer. Once you take a picture, the camera will revert back to single image, it will not stay in self-timer mode, so you have to go this process everytime to use self timer. Hope this helps and happy picture taking!!!!!!!!!!
Easy, in camera mode, push the menu/ok button, use the left and right arrows to display the self timer mode. There are only 3 options on the menu. (self timer, cont, option). Once self timer is on the screen, use the up arrow to pick a short or long self timer.
Once it is set, compose your picture and press the release button as normal, the self timer will do the rest
There are two identical sized small buttons on the top. Push the one nearest the picture-taking button until it says self-timer. Push the picture-taking button. The display should show a countdown until the timer takes the picture.
You use the the self timer as follows:
(1) Push the Menu button on back of camera
(2) Scroll through the Menu items using the small joystick located in the center of your circular selector switch, until you highlight the self timer ON/OFF area
(3) Push the small joystick straight in, like a button
(4) Use the joystick to highlight the on position
(5) Push the joystick button
(6) & just snap the picture as usual.
You will have to use the viewfinder instead of the screen to point the camera.
Hope this helps
