Question about Medion Computers & Internet
My friends notebook boots through the first XP screen to the light blue screen and then stops.....how do i do a "restore" of the setup without being able to get into the windows.?.....
Will also not work through the F8 "safe mode"
Medion MIM2120 Notebook Pc
XP home edition installed.
The safemode may not be accessable probably because you have the Other Gadgets connected to the comp.
Turn Comp off...
Remove every thing(except Keyboard,mouse,monitor& power.)
Then Keep Tapping F8 to enter "advanced screen options menu".
***If the safemode would not enter then enter the safemode with command Prompt.
***Log on to your computer with an administrator account or with an account that has administrator credentials.
*** Type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
if all this do not work and the OS is an OEM then the manufacturer of this computer should have a to Recovery the OS by formatting the comuter.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Tips for a great answer:
System restore will not do what your asking.
However there is a way but you will need a Installation cd Assume you have Windows XP
Then you need to borrow or buy a Windows XP Home Edition or Pro
You can buy one used from Ebay.
There are two options !.Repair install this will save all files/data on your hard drive.
Follow these instructions to Repair install.
Boot the computer using the XP CD.
You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive.
Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.
When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below
This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft
Windows XP to run on your computer:
To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.
To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.
To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.
Press Enter to start the Windows Setup.
Do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you Do Not want to load Recovery Console).
I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".
Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations.
Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair.
If Repair is not one of the options, END setup.
After the reboot
Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot.
Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears.
Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will remain intact.
2. If you want to do a clean install that will completely wipe your hard drive clean then follow the instructions from this site http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/win...
You will then need to reload all Microsoft Windows Updates and find all other drivers and software from http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/c...
Then wham bam you should be back in business.
hope this helps
