Question about GE Refrigerators
Hows the temp in the fridge side? this could be just going through the auto defrost cycle. It will get warm to melt off the ice on the evaporator coils. Heat rises so it will get warmer at the top. After the defrost cycle, all should return to normal. Make sure the fan runs too. I suspect this is normal... unless your food is thawing out.

Inside the fresh food compartment there is a defrost timer behind the control panel. There will be a small hole that you can place a screwdriver through and turn clockwise s;lowly until you hear the refrigerator stop. It should remain stopped for about 30 minutes. If not you will need to again turn it again slowly until it starts. If this happen the timer will need replaced. The part number for the timer is WRX9X489 This is correct providing the model you have is the model listed above your post.
Go to the link below and enter your model number in search feature. this takes you to many just like yours, they are same just little differences. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

OK, I think I understand. Thing is we need to do a few things to see if your control board is the problem or if the fan or a freon leak is the answer. You need to tell me if this began suddenly or if over a period of time. I have been having trouble lately from Fixya if the customer (YOU) responds to my solutions. Let me know if you want my help and I will see if I get a email letting me know of your response, Thanks, Sea Breeze
