I have a Pioneer SG-540 stereo Graphic Equalizer that only works in the right channel, but more importantly puts out a large amount of excess humming moise and other unwanted sounds when the controls are adjusted. Thank-you

I use the sg 540 equalizer for cd and tuner. (I have two of them) I also use the sa 940 to power my sound. On the tuner input of the amp, i used standerd rca cables and connected it to the output of the equalizer. then i connected rca cables from the input of the equalizer to the output of the tuner. this only works when the top equalizer button is pushed on. hope it works for you.

Technics SH-Z170 Stereo Graphic Equalizer. Fixing the slider lights?

Question edited for clarity and full 'make model (what it is)'.

It should be easy enough to diagnose with a digital multimeter. Look for a bulb with no continuity or a bad capacitor close by.

Can you hook up a pyramid graphic equalizer 8600 to a Pioneer receiver audio video multi-channel vsx - D 912

The ideal way to do it is to hook up the preamp outputs of receiver directly to equalizer and the equalizer outputs to the amp inputs on receiver. Then unit will work with all sources.

How to hook up a 7 band pioneer equalizer great 470 to a Kenwood kr-v6030 receiver

Connecting an Equalizer to a Receiver Before beginning, purchase RCA cables. In order to run the signal from a stereo receiver to the graphic equalizer and then on to the amplifier, two sets of RCA cables are needed. These are basic cables used to connect auxiliary components like record players and CD players. The length of the RCA cables should be about the same length as the distance between the receiver and equalizer.

1. Connect Graphic the Equalizer to the Receiver

The first step in this setup is to connect the graphic equalizer (EQ) to the receiver. Most receivers will have preamp-in and preamp-out connections. Some have tape monitor connections. It's preferable to connect the EQ to the preamp-in or preamp-out because the tape monitor won't allow for connection to the amplifier as well.

2. Connect the RCA Cables

The first set of RCA cables should connect the receiver and equalizer. Connect one pair to the preamp output channels and the other end to the left and right input channels on the EQ. These are on the back side of the equalizer. Usually, the colors will correspond to the RCA plugs. That means connect the red plug to the red jack and the white plug to the white jack. Then connect the second pair of RCA cables between the receiver and the amp. Match the colors in the same way.

3. Connect the Amp to the Receiver

Now the amp can be connected to the receiver via RCA cables in the amp inputs on the receiver. This will create a loop from the receiver through the EQ and amp and back to the receiver so that all three units are connected.

4. Test Graphic Equalizer

Turn on the receiver, amp and equalizer. Once they are powered up, try controlling the sound with the equalizer knobs. They should fine tune the music according to your preferences. It's easy to change the frequency response or tone of the music with the equalizer knobs.

I Bought a Sony STR-DH130 2-Channel Hi-Fi Receiver and a AudioSource EQ 200 Graphic Equalizer. I connected them and the equalizer does not make a difference nor does it change the sound, can someone

Well i have a equalizer, some times and just(studio gear) the output from my mixer connected to my equalizer and that output to the monitors., It might be a wrong connection orrrr have you put the equalizer on the receiver input signal, that signal has to be the right impedance and your receiver will propably make the signal linair, so that,s useless

How do you connect a home pioneer graphic equalizer sg-9 to a sansaui r-7 receiver?

Use the tape monitor loop. Connect from the TAPE REC output on the receiver to the INPUT on the equalizer and from the OUTPUT on the equalizer to the PLAYBACK input on the receiver. YOU can then switch the equalizer in and out using the TAPE MON switch. I think the Model Seven had two tape loops, so just keep everything on the same loop.

Studiomaster manual

On the rear panel there are two jack socket marked: Left and Right Insert.
These are connected to the graphic equalizer using two insert cables, one for each channel ( L & R). The cables have a stereo 6.35mm jack plug which plugs into the mixer, the cable splits into two mono jack plugs marked tip (or send) and ring (or return). The send (tip) connects to the input of the graphic equalizer and the return (ring) connects to the output of the graphic equalizer. How it works: The stereo jack interrupts the signal in the mixer and sends it to the equalizer, the equalizer processes the signal then sends it back to the mixer. Typical cable is shown below. If the equalizer has a different type of socket, phono for example you will need jack to phono adapters or insert cables with suitable plugs. Hope this helps.
