Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a Marantz CD42 - it has served me well over many years. The only problem with it is the door no longer opens. After opening the lid I can see that the small plastic wheel, which the band sits on to cause the door to open and close is broken. Do you know anywhere where I can get this part?

Search for this on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=300282821029

or search for CDM4 gear.
Had the same problem with mine and this sorted it.

Marantz CD Player PMD325. Cd tray won't open. Sounds like it's trying to but no motion. I have lid off but can't see what's trying to move when I push the open button.

The cd mech has to drop before the tray will open, if the belt under the front is broke you can turn the pulley wheel by hand and all will unload

Remove the lid, you will probably have to remove the whole cd mech and turn the gear underneath with your finger

My Marantz CD 53 CDplayer door is not opening. what is the solution

You probably have a broken belt on the cd tray so it's neither open or closed, if the laser's ok thats why it wont play

Marantz cd67se mk 2 Door does not open when button pressed

i had the same problem on a marantz cd-63 which is virtually identical
and it turned out to be a faulty button on the control PCB.
i replaced it with one out of a scrap PCB and all worked as it should.

hope this helps.

Matsui mf160 deturgnt door wont open

hi The lid switch on a washer often serves as a safety switch. If the switch is not working, or if the switch opening in the lid is clogged with detergent the door will not open
