My Model # is 27957FE 1-A Dont know how to reset

To set the time and date, start at the base unit. Then press the Flash/Program until Set Day appears on the display. Press the Review or Next button to select the day of the week. Then press Flash/Program again until SetTime appears in the display. Type in the time (hour (two digits) then minute (again two digits)) with the keypad number buttons. Then press Review or Next to select AM/PM. Press Flash/Program to store the information.

Please note that if you have Caller ID, the time and day transmitted with the caller ID information from your phone company will override the day and time you have set.

The manual is available here: http://www.home-electronics.net/USER-GUIDES/27957_DOM_ES_CL_IB.pdf . See page 15 for this.

I hope this helps.

Bike Won't Fire

Timing is off. If the timing isn't exactly right it will turn over until the battery goes dead or the starter burns up (which ever comes first). The fuel/air mixture has to be ignited, expelled from the engine,etc. for the bike to run.

2003 883 sportster wont start

What u are describing is typical of a faulty ignition system, but could also be a fuel problem. I check by removing the aircleaner and rotating the throttle. If u see a nice spray of fuel, thats probably not the problem. Check for a spark at the plugs. I can explain how if you need me to. If you cant see a good spark, U have an electrical problem. I had a crank position sensor go bad on me. Dont do what I did (replaced the battery, ignition, and regulator as part of my diagnosis procedure)

My harley idles at 600rpm instead of 1000rpm and it has a flat spot under acceleration.I bought some bad gas awhile ago but ran a few tanks through it since.What's the problem?

Check and clean the air filter first since it's going to be the easiest to get to. Then, if the bad gas had sediments in it, you may need to clean the fuel filter and the carb. It could also be that your carb is just seating and needs adjustment. Try adjusting the idle, if you have any fluctuation or it has a high idle from time to time, then set the idle back, and pull the carb and clean it, floats, jets, etc... This is, if it's a carburated model, if injected, then you will need to run an injection system cleaner through it and have the injection system calibrated.

Can't figure it out !!!!

Hi,

There are 2 major requirement for a gasoline engine to fire, fuel and ignition. Since you have spark, then ignition is the least likely problem. No fuel could be verified by removing the air cleaner and pouring a small amount of fuel down the throat, start the bike, if it start and runs (even for just a moment), you have verified the fuel problem.

Problems then could be traced along the fuel flow from the ank all the way to the carburator. In some instances of run out of fuel, the bike will have a hard time starting due to:
1. air bubbles in the fuel lines;
2. valve in carb stuck in close position;
3. flooding of both carb and intakes;
4. (in some cases) vacuum insifficient to open petcock or fuel valve/switch.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
