Hoover commodore 5kg - lost wire under spindle

Hello,

I live in Australia and my mother has a Hoover, Commodore 5kg top load washing machine. She has lost a 'bra wire' underneath the centre spindle.

I think it is too costly just to get a repair man out just to remove the spindle and recover the bra wire. Can you advise me as to how I can remove the center spindle to remove the wire myself.

Thanks in advance,

Robert Ollington

this is either a belt slip or a squeeling bearing ater seal, if it is not the belt then try doing a boil wash, this often resolves the problem. Regards Advisor

Possible that the inlet valve is choked , clogged or faulty. You need to check the power to the valve when the washer is switched on, if there is no power the control panel is faulty and if there is power and no flow inwards then the valve must be removed and cleaned. If there is no result the valve must be replaced.
check this link: inlet valve.

Open the lid, locate the centre washing spindle/arm then undo the cap on top of the spindle (this will either unscrew or just slip out, Pull up.) inside there you will see the lint filter, wash this out and put back.

My old Hoover top loader Washer is noisy & doesn't spin out properly - how can I fix it?

Sounds like the switch which cuts the machine off when the load is unbalanced. My guess is that: This switch is being triggered too easily The springs holding the bowl up are either stretched or one is broken; The machine may not be level.
