Question about Honeywell Enviracaire Elite F300E-1019 Air Purifier

Can't get the Honeywell F300e EAC back together.

I cannot get the Honeywell F300# EAC working after cleaning it. First I don't know what "upstream vs downstream" is, I don't know what "I/O" is and the air flow I thought was from the furnace to the ductwork, but the cells won't slide in with the arrows on the cells pointing in that direction. I certainly need help here

There is a plastic cell key that keeps you from putting the cells in backwards. Simply reverse the cells and they should slide in fine.
I/O is the power switch, I think O is off.

1 is on and 0 is off.

This filter should be installed before the furnace fan. So, air flow is from the duct into the heater, not the other way around.

Honeywell Enviracaire Elite 300 problem. Light is not on. Seems like no power to system. No snapping or noises. No obvious bent fins or broken wires

If it was wired to the return air it will have a flag switch to let it know the blower is on, sometimes the flag comes off and it wont operate, sometimes it is wired directly to the computer board on terminals EAC that stands for electronic air cleaner and the board turns the air cleaner on when the blower is running, if you have a meter you can check voltage in both places to see which one is the problem. let me know. thanks wally

I have a F50E electronic filter. The light comes on, but there is no snapping sound when I push the test button. The cells and wires look ok. What could be the problem.

It's possible that the board is at fault. Triple check and make sure all the ionizing wires are in place on both cells and that the thin collector plates are not touching each other. Also, make sure the contact points are clean on both the cells and the cabinet.
The F50 is an obsolete EAC, so parts are becoming difficult to get. If the board is bad, I would recommend unplugging the unit and using a MERV 10 media filter in its place (Honeywell designed that EAC with the same cabinet as the media filter... all they did was add a power pack on top for the EAC. The media filter will slide directly in the cells place.) You will get better filtration with much less maintenance.

F300E powers up in purge mode, but shuts off when heating

In the heat mode your furnace fan operates in a lower speed. when your zone panel purges it powers the G terminal in your furnace, which is high speed. You may have an airflow problem if your EAC is powered directly to an outlet, you may have a bad air pressure switch, or if the eac is wired to the furnace control board, it is mis-wired..more info needed.

Honeywell F300E not cleaning air.

A newly installed system should still be under the contractor's labor warranty. Call them and ask them to come out to check on the unit and explain what you wrote above. This should cost you nothing and is the best way to get to the bottom of the problem.
