Question about Nikon Digital Cameras

1 Answer

I recently purchased the Nikon D300, have read through the manual, and still can't figure out how to change the settings so that it's taking the same picture constantly. (same subject, lighting, etc., the camera will shoot at 5 different shutter speeds). Thank you!

Go to the custom settings menu, then section "e"..number 5, auto bracketing set, choose AE only.

Then go to F4...assign func button, for func buttons + dials...choose Auto bracketing.

Then when actual shooting, press and hold the func button and rotate the main dial to choose number of frames...func button and sub dials to choose the difference in exposure.

Nikon D300 - Auto focus point won't move. Autofocus doesn't work.

The lock that's around the 4-way button that moves the AF point will stop it from moving. The AF switch (says C,S,M) on the body below the lens release button gets knocked to manual and turns off the AF

I don't know how to set the Nikon D300 for fast picture shooting.

Setting it to portrait mode should do it. Hold down the shutter button, it should be working. I'm not overly familiar with nikons, but otherwise it'll be in a menu mode if you switch it to a more manual setting. Probably under shooting mode. Set it to continuous shoot

Nikon D300 When I depress the shutter half way or fully on my D300 the frame counter reads r27 and the lens (any previously compatible Nikkor lens) will not auto focus. The camera is not set in burst mode...

Only reason the lens will not auto focus when you depress the shutter half way is due to either lens AF switch is set to Manual OR camera body's focus system is on M. There is 3 way toggle switch below the synch port around the lens mount. It should be set to C or S in order for auto focus to work. If all the settings are correct and even "AF-ON", next to rear dial doesn't activate auto focus then the issue maybe in the setting or the body itself. As for the buffer reading r27, I think mine displays r## regardless of burst/continuous mode.

Take the lens off and put it back on the camera again. Make sure you turn the camera off prior to doing this. Make sure your lens is at it's smallest aperture setting.

D300 Manual exposure problem

likely there's nothing wrong with the D300 - all that's happened is that its inadvertently been set into bracketing mode and hence it cycles through 3 or 5 or 7 different exposures each time it is activated!
