If you will go through the Advanced Setup wizzard and it completes you will have access to the "Display Scanner dialog"

Posted on Jul 13, 2009

The paperport is preset to scan in Letter size rather than A4. Go to "Scan or Get Photo", select a profile, eg. "Grayscale Document", uncheck "Display scanner dialog box", then click on "Settings...". On the pop up window, switch to "Scan" tab and change the "Size" from "Letter" to "A4" or appropriate.... no thanks.. I was looking for a solution to how come on some Paperport the "Display scanner dialog box" gray out and cannot be unchecked. Paperport is more expensive and getting worse. If you don't have your scanner switch on and plug in, an error will comes out when yo are on the "Scan or Get Photo" page... a kind of super stupid.

Can I scan slides with Canoscan LiDE600F

Yep, The Canoscan LiDE600F is capable of scanning slides, however it is not possible to scan them in their mounts. If you dismount the slide, you can scan them using the film strip holder. This is not an elegant solution and you would have to remount your slides to use them as originally intended.

Enable Duplex Scanning

You cannot scan both sides using a flatbed scanner! If you want both images on the same sheet, you need to scan twice and using some imaging software you can cut and paste the images appropriately.

Scanning multiple page documents

Yes you can. You need a small scan application whitch allows you to scan multipages.
There are for example ScandAll21 from Fujitsu (freeware) or PaperPort 11.

Scanning negatives on CanoScan 600F, I get an error message "Cannot write or read. 252.0.0"

The Canon support site is the place to go for that if your Manual does not tell you.
However remove the software and reload it - it may be as simple as that.
