Printer message alternates (after unplugging/turning off) between check the cartridge, paper jam, and this exciting flashing error "Error:0x031e4dd6789:lib_barracud"
A couple of times, after unplugging the beast, it offered to align the cartridges. It sucked in some paper, printed nothing, spit the paper out and told me to check the cartridges. Another time it told me to check the carriage? I will admit now that I have used remanufactured cartridges. Did I kill my printer?

- Thanks for the idea. I'll try it next. I'm kinda surprised that an error with the word "barracud" maybe barracuda cut off? didn't result in a bunch of responses - most errors are just a string of letters & numbers right? Should I pop the top and look for a big fish jammed in my printer ?

You could still have software related problems that are in registry. You may need to go to control panel, add/remove software, look for anything related to printer and remove/uninstall. Then reinstall your software from cd. Another thought would be to install software and printer on another system ( friends pc maybe ) to see if problem is printer or software for sure. Again...good luck, they can be a pain !!!

If you have not done this already.....delete the printer and reinstall the software that came with it...sounds like something got corrupted somehow. Good Luck
