Only if there is ventilation. if freezer gets cold, then something else has to get hot and you have to be able to get rid of the heat

Freezer only gets down to around 18 degrees but fridge is fine. No frost on the freezer evaporator fan is running

Modern consumer refrigerators only have coils in the freezer. In the lower back of the freezer there is a small fan and possible a damper (flap that opens/closes) to push cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator. Given that the freezer is 18 deg, it's probably cold enough to keep the fridge area at typically 34 deg.
So the cooling system (compressor, coils, thermostat) are not working properly to keep the freezer at, typically 0 deg. Possible causes: partial loss of refrigerant gas, icing around evaporator coils (in freezer), compressor failing, dust clogging condenser coils (under fridge), condenser fan clogged or broken (under fridge), thermostat failure.
I'd start with condenser. Remove the slotted trim at the bottom front and look in with a flashlight. Are the coils clean? Pull out the fridge and remove the lower back cover (usually cardboard). You can now see the coils and fan. Clean and blow them out.
If it's icing, it probably means freezer door not closing tight. If auto-defrost not working properly it would probably get worse over the period of a few days so not likely.

Hi ive hoover hrfa54w fridge freezer just over a year old. Ive noticed freezer is starting to defrost sometimes the freeze again....its in a holiday cottage so often in a very cold ambient temperatur

Ambient temp will cause the thermostat some confusion. There's probably nothing wrong with the fridge, my freezer doesn't like being in the outhouse. Only alternative is only switch on when you are there or move it to a cupboard where you could put a low output source of heat just enough to keep it happy. Then get it out when you are there?

Freezer not cooling. How do I reset

sorry never heard of a reset for freezer cooling. are u saying the fridge cools but not the freezer? that would be highly unlikely though. u may have a bad air flow or fan? low freon issue? u can reset the defrost timer and see if it restarts the fridge by inserting a flat head screw driver in the tiny slot at the center of timer and turning it till it clicks twice

We have a Maytag Model # MF D2561HES, side by side, freezer drawer below. It is a quarter of an inch too high for the space. Is it possible to remove the wheels from the bottom in order to solve this...

The last one of these that I had that issue with could not be fixed that way. The only thing that you can do is remove the cupboard that is above it and use a table saw to trim 1/2 inch off the bottom of the cupboards.

Fridge had a lot of frost at the back (top fridge/lower freezer), turned it down and it defrosted, however, the freezer doesn't seem to be working properly either. Defrosted it all last night and this am...

It sounds as if the freezer coils and vent stack are frozen solid. This usually requires
removing the back panel in the freezer compartment and defrosting carefully with
a hair dryer. (If this becomes frozen it blocks off the fan/vent that feeds cold air down to
the fresh food compartment) Make sure to unplug unit before servicing as you will need
to unplug the fan to remove the back panel.
While doing this check the defrost termination thermostat (a small device attached to
the tube with two wires coming out of it). The black plastic ones sometimes come apart
and fail.
Once defrosted put everything back together and test.
Hope this helps.

Belling intergrated Fridge Freezer

On integrated appliances the power supply is invaribly behind the unit. However there is normally an isolator to the side of the unit or in a side cupboard. Hope this helps.
