Message on printer screen says "The following printhead(s) has a problem: black/yellow (K/Y).

Hi,

This probably could be defective Printhead ( black/yellow )

Follow the steps below and it should resolve the issue, if not, you need to replace the K/Y Printhead. You can purchase it from any nearest departmental store like bestbuy or costco or walmart etc or Call HP and order one.

Open the front access door. ( printer must be power on )
Remove the Latch of the Printheads
Remove the Printhead
Clean the Contacts with lint free cloth ( golden contacts or electrical contacts / not the nozzles )
Re-install the Printhead back in its position and close the front access door.
The printer usually goes thru initialization process. or Turn off the printer and turn on.
If you still get the error message, Replace the K/Y Printhead.

Regards,
Ron

Unable to align cartridges on Canon Pixma MP600 all-in-one printer. When trying to print many black streaks obscure printed area.

This sounds like a printhead problem.
The first thing I would try is to clean the printhead. Remove the cartridges and store them (stretch a piece of plastic electrical tape over the ink cartridge hole to keep the ink from drying out).
Remove the printhead and set it in warm distilled water and let the printhead sit overnight.
Remove the printhead from the water and blot the water with a clean lint free dry cloth (do not rub the printhead and contacts, or damage could occur. Set the printhead aside to air dry.
Once the printhead is dry, reinsert the printhead, remove the tape from the ink cartridges, reinsert the ink cartridges. Test print. This should clear the problem.
We can try a more aggressive cleaning solution of the distilled water doesn't clear the problem.
Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks.

HP Officejet Pro K550 - Printhead Error Message on new printhead - cleaned printhead, contacts... tried all fixes... what now? Is it faulty?

I have the same problem. I replaced both printhead cartidges. The MC light stopped blinking, but the KY light kept blinking. I thought it was a faulty new KY ink cartridge. So I returned that cartridge and got a new one. Still the same issue. I called hp and they said the print head is bad now and all they focused on was trying to sell me a new printer. UG! I also heard wiping off the printhead with a dry cloth may help. Did you get yours to wokr?

Where do i find a print head for my mp760?

Hi,

You can find the Printheads at any departmental/computer sales and service center stores. Bestbuy, Costco, Walmart or Office Depot usually stores the accessories and parts for Canon printers.

You need to mention the Printer model and the Printhead(s) that you want to order.

Where can I buy a printhead

Only tech support from Kodak can provide a Printhead, but they need to perform some troubleshooting steps with your printer, and if they determine that the problem is the Printhead they can send you a replacement for free.
or you may visit the website www.kodak.com/go/itg

Help with my k5400

It's possible you have one of the following problems:
  • Printhead is faulty
  • The printhead has expired (HP printheads have an expiry date which is written into the chip)
In both of these cases contact HP support to request a warranty replacement (but try the ideas below first obviously :))

  • The printhead hasn't been inserted properly
  • The chip contacts are dirty or soiled in some way
For these last two, try removing the printhead, cleaning the chip carefully with a cotton bud and then replacing carefully.
It's also entirely possible that you've been sold a lemon in which case you need to call the store you bought the printer from and get them to troubleshoot the issue with you and/or replace it/refund your money.

Hope that helps.

Hp 550 printhead clogged

Try cleaning the printhead with warm water. Alcohol doesn't work with that ink. As far as a new one is concerned, try discount stores like Wal-Mart. You can also get remanufactured ones at good prices or even do it yourself.

No red color

Call Kodak Customer service and request a new printhead. They do not sell them in stores.

You could try soaking your printhead nozzles in hot water. NOT TAP WATER OR DRINKING WATER. make sure the water is distilled or de-ionized. do not submerge the entire printhead just the nozzle plate on the bottom. you could also try distilled vinigar, or 90% rubbing alcohol. I would not recomend wipeing the printhead nozzles they are delicate.
