Question about Samsung LN-S4692D 46 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

Tv callibration they came today to callibrate the tv---it now has a zoom to the picture that it didn't have before--it's also a little fuzzy--like watching a bad movie we cannot see the tops of heads or the logos in bottom right screen or words across the bottom. We can't watch it like this. It is in dynamic mode and the picture zoom on the remote is not in the zoom or zoom 2 position.

What are you using for signal to the set? (Box?) and how are you connected? (HDMI?)

If HDMI try going Component

It may be the box/HDMI hook up causing the problem.

The TV picture shows a double image like "ghosting"?

Ghosting or blurring vision happens due to a faulty video processing board. It may be due to faulty T-con board (BN81-01308A) or a main board ( BN94-01199B ). However, you'll need to check the wiring on both of these boards. Before this I'll suggest you to callibrate the TV by following these settings--

Contrast: 85
Brightness: 46
Color: 56
Tint: G50 / R50
Sharpness: 15
Backlight: 5

Black Adjust: low
Dynamic Contrast: low
Gamma: 1

If this doesn't resolve the issue then turn off and unplug the TV for 4-5 hours and check.

Just bought the Samsung 550 Plasma Hd Tv can you tell me if we just use a regular cable from the wall to the Tv will the picture quality be sort of off.. WE have an HM MI cable from the cable box to the TV...

unfortunately cable does not give you the best quality picture and "fuzziness ' is the reduced resolution being displayed on the tv.
the easy way to check the picture quality is to get a decent hd antenna and scan using it for free hdtv signals, if these are also fuzzy, on all channels then the tv has a problem but if it is only on a few lower resolution channels then its just the way it is until everyone is hd 720 or better.

Has fuzzy spots all the way across the screen and just scrolls up

Is the picture fuzzy whether you are waching tv or a dvd or a tape. If it's only fuzzy on tv or dvd or tape then it's the source. If all inputs are fuzzy suspect a bad tv.

FUZZY (SNOWY) PICTURE

Well, I can tell you it shouldnt have anything to do with your not having an HD box. The TV does not require a HD signal to give you a quality picture. The HD box only gives you the enhanced HD signal, but should work as any regular TV without it. How do you have it connected?
