I think your out of luck. Getting support for this product really raises the red flags up. There are people on this site that monitor things. You might want to see if there are alernative products out there on the web.

What I would do is do a system restore and select a date before the update was done. This should restore the program to normal. You can then retry the update. But set a system restore point before you do. So if the thing stops working again you can reset it. If it goes funny again contact the software supplier and say the update is corrupting the software.

Dvd playback hesitates during playback when burned using 123copydvdgold. Is there a setting I can change to prevent this?

Hi.

Several things can cause that to occur.
First, when you were burning the disc, if you had any other programs running at the same time, the other programs can cause glitching of the burn.

Also, automatic updates can sometimes cause it.

It can also be caused by a bad copy of whatever movie you are burning, this can be caused by bad download, dirt on the disc or in the burner drive itself.

Even simple things like anti-virus programs can sometimes cause it to burn badly.

I would try this.
Reboot your computer to safe mode with network access.
Turn of ALL updates, and then try to burn it again.
You might also want to try burning it at a slower speed, sometimes that can also cause problems.

I hope this gives you some ideas as to how to get a better burn.

Good luck to you, and have a nice day !

Hi... I have several problems - the main ones being that ALL windows updates fail, also I cannot download updated drivers for my graphics, audio, CDROM player and various chipsets? I have uninstalled the...

The problem is all about Viruses, attacking your Windows files and drives. You can try the following steps and hopefully it will result in a positive result.
Step 1-First of all Format and re install your Windows XP home edition with the XP CD. Try the link, if you don't know how to format and install XP on your PC. (http://www.buildeasypc.com/sw/windows_xp.htm)
Step 2- After installing your Windows XP,don't access your other drives,not at all. Just install all drivers and important softwares in the beginning,. Install a browser or use the default Internet Explorer. Download ' Avira antivirus' from the following link- (http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus). Install and update the antivirus, if don't know how to update,this is the method. { 1- With the right-hand mouse button, click on the Avira AntiVir Personal tray icon in the task bar. A context menu appears. 2- Select Start update. The Updater dialog box appears. }
Step 3- After updating,Scan the whole computer or do a Full computer scan for viruses and malwares.Remove all viruses and malwares.
Step 4- Goto control panel>>windows update>>check for windows update.
Step 5- Download and install all updates as this time there will be no error message.
Step 6- After Installing all updates, restart your PC and use it as you like.
Hope this will Help !!!

Note: Update your Antivirus regularly so as to be safe from viruses and problems. Use genuine Windows XP.

Not sure which software you're using but with mine there is a shortcut in the program menu to start HotSynch. I know that's a duh, but ya never know.
Second option is to reinstall the Desktop software. You may have a corrupted driver or cfg file.

Automatic update cancles

Hi. Norton can be finnicky at times. I had trouble a few days ago trying to update mine. Gave up one day and the next day it was fine. If you have been unsuccessful for a couple days then I would use the online help (chat) from Symantec. It is very good and is free for 360 users. Access it from the help menu.

If that is not satisfactory, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the product. You will need to be registered at Symantec and have the CD Key. If you choose this you should use the Norton Removal Tool found at:

http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Select your product. Save the file to your desktop. When the download finishes, run the program. Then reinstall the original program, and run Live Update first thing after verifying your subscription.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Windows Vista - No internet-no backup

Sometimes after you install Norton antivirus products, most notably Norton System works, the firewall included with the antivirus will block the internet from working properly. Right click on your Norton Icon on the right side of your task bar & turn norton off. Try your internet again. You may have to close & re-open Internet explorer after you shut off your norton. The other thing is you could remove your firewall entirely, as your router should have a firewall in it, and if you are using win xp, it also has a firewall. This kind of configuration sometimes causes some rather unusual effects.

Go to the "Add and Remove Programs" in your Control panel.
Do a "Change" and do the 'repair program' utility.
That should fix it, good as new.
If that is not a possible option, try uninstalling. (if there is no "Change" and 'repair program') then Run the normal uninstall program.
