See if you want to reset your PC to as it came new you will have to format your hard disk and install a fresh copy of the OS you use. For that you need a bootable setup CD. (most of the OS setup CD's are bootable now a days)

You must be having a OS cd like Windows XP, or Windows Vista or whatever you use.

Now what you have to do first is check you first boot device or boot order. For that you need to get into BIOS. To get into BIOS you will have to press buttons like DEL, F1, F2, F9 or F10. Don't press all together try one at a time. For most of PC's DEL works.

Now when you have got into your BIOS check for Boot order and see if CD/DVD drive has the first preference or not. Then Insert the disk into drive and restart your PC. Your OS CD will get booted and then just follow the instructions as the setup runs.

Before you format your PC be sure you have all the hardware drivers.

If you need some more help I am there.

Just restore from the disk you got with it or the backup you made at first, or look up the buttons to press at first in your Acer manual.  You'll have to go forwards eventually, though....

HI?I HAVE AN ACER ASPIRE 5732Z.WELL IT STARTS THEN IT ASKS ME TO EITHER PICK THE LAUNCH START REPAIR(RECOMMENDED) OR START WINDOWS NORMALLY,SO I DID WHAT IT ASK ME TO DO AND NOTING HAPPENS IT EITHER GOES...

If you pick repair, as it seems you have some important files missing or corrupt, follow the instructions. If it doesn't work you will have to reboot your laptop with your system disk in the DVD slot. Wait until windows has loaded and select repair system from there. If that doesn't work, repeat the last option and select Install New System on the hard drive and follow the prompts. This will erase your ild system and put a fresh on on.
When it has finished loading restore your backup discs and there you are, a fresh install.
Don't forget to get the latest Anti Virus updates.

BSOD after power failure during check disk-now I cannot reboot from recovery console or disk. How can I uninstall the OS then reinstall OS from eMachines T6524?

You need to enter the BIOS. immediately upon starting the computer start tapping either the F2 or the tab button. Once in the bios, go to boot order and set the cd/dvd drive as the first boot priority, hard drive second. It is ok to leave this permanently, save and close settings which will reboot the system and considering everything goes as planned you should be able to start up from a disk and then repair or replace XP. When replacing XP remember to delete partition and write a new copy. THIS WILL ERASE ALL INFO ALREADY ON THE HARD DRIVE!!!

Got virus laptop will not restore to earlier date takes about 12 to 15 minutes to sign on to computer. Would like to restore to origial state but that does not work either help me

You need to install a fresh copy of your operating system You need to be able to completely erase your hard drive and start fresh. If I were you I would consider changing the hard drive completely and starting fresh with a new copy of the operating system. It sounds like a worm and it has eaten through all of your restore data.

My computer won't let me log in.

I) if i understand ur problem you must have forgotten your password, in such case go into safe mode by pressing F8 button continuously when you start system  and from there go to user accounts and delete that account or ur account and create account and do remember ur password and all this possible incase ur OS is Windows XP and is not possible in case of Vista, ultimately incase of Vista you have reload Vista or Format Vista or load the OS Freshly...(you can recover forgotten passwrod in Vista)

ii) otherwise try installing or reloading new OS or load the OS Freshly.....

System restore

I've just had to restore my Dell Inspiron back to the original Dell setup and was told by Dell support that the same procedure applies for the dimension. Press CTR+F11 together when powering up the PC to access the restore utility, the on-screen instructions are clear and straight forward. This will rebuild your hard drive, from a ghost image in the dell partition, to the same state as when the PC arrived from Dell so you will lose any applications and files loaded since then, make sure you have a backup of any important files etc. before you do this.
