Have a coby television that was purchased in Nov. wil not turn on. TV seems to be receiving power but does not come on? No one will work on the unit say they have no info and TV should be replaced. Please advise with what the consumer should do? TV is a 13" flat screen w/ a dvd player.

Hi, we had that problem the first two days we purchased our set. Fortunately they replaced it with no problem. I hope you purchased an extended warranty, Coby is out of business but warranties are still being honored...I don't know of a fix for this..Basically the Coby is a dud..I wish you the best! let us know how it turns out..

could be many things, make sure nothing is around the tv that would block the receiving eye for the remote on the tv. sometimes the receiver in the set can go bad.
Main board fault. Check and replace the damaged component/s at its main board. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. unfortunately the coby company has gone out of business probably because they have produced an inferior product that has had many, many problems, many people are posting problems with these sets. it is better you just purchase a different brand of tv and leave this heartache causing product behind.
If its two weeks old why are you here? Take it back to point of purchase and either have it fixed or replaced or get a refund.....
From the brand you likely are in UK but here all sets come with some kind of warranty==the problem sounds like a power supply issue but if you have a warranty and open the set it will void that warranty.
Please include model# of your set. This wil help in diagnosing your problem.
Signs are pointing to your Power Supply. Check your fuses and look for signs of burnt components or arcing.
Sounds like the power supply could be bad in unit. If you are technically inclined you can open the back of that baby and check her out. Look for bad fuses or a bad backlight maybe. Let me know if you need some other help. Sincerely HDTV GURU JAY
