Sears craftsman gt3000 kohler 23 horse power 48 inch deck

I start my lawn tractor and it runs fine... when I put it into gear, it will run fine for 30 to 40 seconds and then it starts to want to dye out. Then all of a sudden it will fire back up and run again. It repeats the wanting to die out every 30 to 40 seconds and will refire up again. it just will not run smoothly.

I replaced the gas. I put in a new fuel filter. I also cleaned the carb. I had a new carb put in by Sears in 2005.

Could you please help me diagnose this problem?

I would really appreciate it!

I tried both of your suggestions...

It runs for a little longer, but it still wants to die out. Is there a chance you give me a little more advise? I cannot see why this tractor is giving me such a hard time. Ugh!

If it even has a float. A lot small engines just have a diaphragm type pump.

I was thinking governer sticking or loaded with grease. Right at the top of the engine is a flywheel with fins on it., Those fins serve to put an amount of forced air on the governor so it does not overrevv. This gov connects directly to the carb but it could be any number of fuel issues.

When in doubt spray the gov/ flywheel/engine with a foaming engine cleaner while warm then later spray it away.

After that if it still continues I would rebuild the carb, They usually come extra so buy a new float, too. while you're in there it is worth the effort. Most of all make sure it's adjusted right or it will do what you describe. New kits use a cardboard feeler gauge to set it. But you could have any number of sticking/varnished needle valves in there. Crab rebuilds are not expensive but it's good to set it out on a cleanly newspapered cardtable with a magnet and a can of carb cleaner. These are tiny parts... tweezers help... small hands of a kid would, too. But it will save yourself 1 to three hundred dollars.. I've rebuilt many from little two cycles to car ones.

It sounds like the float on your carb needs cleaning,im not sure how you cleaned your carb, but if you take out the bottom bowl ,it unscrews and youll see the float right there, check to see that it lifts up and down with no resistance,if ok I would check the safety switch on your seat, the one that shuts your tractor off if you get up off the tractor while its running, its probally on the way out,if this is helpfull please vote me a fix ya

Is a Liftmaster 973LM remote compatable with a Sear 1.5 hp model 41A4315-7D opener?

No it is not compatable. You will need a craftsman remote or a universal remote

Motor keypad craftsman

It should IF the Craftsman opener is also of the rolling code type. Some openers use rolling code technology and some do not. You need to cross reference the model number of the craftsman opener with the remote to see if they are compatible. You didn't give the opener model number here so there is no accurate way of telling. Most Sears openers over the past few years are rolling code type.

your chain is in the wrong position, unhook the chain and run the door opener so it is in the down position, then reattach the chain and make the adjustments as needed on the up and down screwes located on the side of the unit. good lick

I have a Sears Craftsman garage door opener with a Smart 3-Function remote control. I need to replace the battery, but cannot see how the case opens to give access, and no longer have the owner's...

Depending on how old your Remote Control Smart 3 Function remote is determines on how to access the battery compartment. It will either have a small screw which needs to be loosened or if it doesn't have that, it will pop open when a very small, thin, flat blade screw driver is inserted in the side seam of the plastic housing. It's going to be tight, so be gentle with it. Once you access the wafer battery, note which side is up (+ or -). That's the way you want to install the new battery.

Hope this helps you out.

I have a Sears Craftsman HBW0777 Garage Door Opener (Date: 07/94) whose remotes both stopped working - I suspect this is a problem with the main control unit, but everything else with the unit is fine (I...

I had the same issue yesterday with my remotes which are model 850CB. I fixed it by following these steps on Chamberlain's help site:
1. Press & release the "learn" button on the motor unit. 2. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button on the remote. 3. Release the remote button when the light bulb on the motor blinks. It has learned the code.

http://help.chamberlain.com/help/en-us/programmingInstructions/ and enter your remote model number for re-programming instructions.

That worked for me. Not sure why it "lost" the code in the first place. By the way, I only had to do this for one remote, the other started working after the first was re-learned.

Chamberlain 4200C doesnt open or close properly

You did not sync the chain correctly. If you have not touched the travel limits, take chain off sprocket and run door to either up or down position. Put chain back on with trolley in up or down, accordingly. Tension and make final travel adjustments.

My door opener seems to be working under a heavy load going up. The colder it is the worse it is. It is adjusted to max. and the door is fine.It is a liftmaster 2110. Thanks

UNHOOK THE DOOR FROM THE OPENER AND TRY TO LIFT IT MANUALLY. IT SHOULD OPEN FREELY AND EASILY.
IF NOT
CHECK TO SEE IF THERE IS A BROKEN SPRING. IF THERE IS A GAP IN ONE OF THE SPRINGS THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM AND IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
IF THE SPRING(S) ARE GOOD THE PROBABLY NEED TO BE ADJUSTED.
IF YOU RUN YOUR OPENER THIS WAY FOR VERY LONG YOU WILL STRIP OUT THE GEARS.
IF YOUR DOOR IS WOOD THEY GET HEAVIER IN WET WEATHER - THIS MAY BE WHY IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE IN THE COLD.
HOPE THIS HELPS

I have had incredible success over the years calling Sears product Help Line-usually Parts
-they have sent me numerous manuals for 20+ year old lawn mowers, rototillers, and snowblowers
-their after-market service makes me consider purchasing new products from them
...but I enjoy buying through auctions.....and hunting for manuals when I need them :)

-contact them at 1-800-366-PART (1-800-366-7278)
-they will be able to help or transfer you to the right place

best of luck
