I have a 61" samsung DLP tv one of the earlier models. I just bought the brand new lamp. I have a problem when I turn on the tv, it sounds like the tv is trying to come on but i get no picture and the power switch keeps on turning on and off. Finally all three light are blinking. How do I know that I had a bad lamp, a bad ballast, or a bad color wheel. How do I test the balast? Can I test the voltage output where the lamp is plug in? My email address is nguyenef2004@yahoo.com.
thanks.

Thank you for your information. I've the lamp out (the secure switch down for door closed), the ballast did not "strike" or give an arc sound. The color wheel does not spin. The TV did not have any bad sound at all, can the color wheel just die without warning? What do I need to do? Replace the color wheel? Thanks,

with lamp out (door closed) the ballast should "strike" or give an arc sound, trying to fire the lamp. If it does not do that maybe the color wheel is not spinning up - has to do that first.........then the set will try to fire the lamp
